Review:
Just so you know... The Day Everything Became Nothing is from Australia! This Ep is their newest material since their debut full length cd back in 2003. As their band name doesn't really indicate, they play mid-paced, metallic goregrind not dissimilar to german bands like Mucupurulent (still haven't listened to anything past "Sicko Babe", so that particular album is my reference point) or Cock and Ball Torture. Leading vocals are strictly pitch-shifted roaring growls, eventually aided by some enthused shrieking on a couple of songs. Sound production is heavy but crunchy... What else is there? Catchy riffing, tight rocking drumming and even some nice groove... Just well-rounded songs, structured in a very clear-cut manner, kind of a goregrinding AC/DC? Nah that sounds awful, forget I just wrote that... Anyhow, 5 catchy songs to bang your head to... The last song has a fake live stadium crowd sound thing going for it and "Fuel for Hatred" is a Satyricon cover song, some odd choices perhaps, but this Ep certainly is a joy to listen to, simply solid and entertaining... Very pleasant-looking lay-out too with band members depicted postmortem-style (cause of death: suicide)... I think Exhumed already did something like that in the past (for one of their split ep's if I'm not mistaken), but this is still a very neat layout idea.

Tracks: 1)Fiends Applaud, The Gore Is Over (3:20) 2)Vin Cerro (2:32) 3)Nothing But Death (3:00) 4)Fuel For Hatred (3:52) 5)Mortem (Live) (3:53)

Review:
There's a new, surprising band, their name definitely sound like a hardcore/metal band name, but the music is actually very nice grind-death, in the vein of Pungent Stench and with a touch of CBT with a whole midtempo Gore/Grind thing going on. There are members from Blood Duster & Fuck... I'm Dead in the band. I gotta say it's also got a slight Blood Duster vibe as well... Some solid groove and catchy rock riffs, but for the most part this is blasting, heavy and grinding material you've find here... Vocals are heavily effected roars, drums are tight on every area, fast or midtempo, guitars are quite downtuned and heavy with real catchy thrashing riffs. The sound production is pretty stunning: sharp, clean & quite powerful. There's a very nice looking cover layout, nothing truly eye catching but still very neat looking. The one word song titles don't sound like anything special, and no lyrics to be found here, I'm not sure what the band is writing about, doesn't seem mind-blowing anyway. All in all, good stuff, pretty gory, slightly grindy although it's very metal-sounding, just so you know... CBT fans should love this...

Tracks: 1)Revisionist 2)Naked 3)Subtext 4)Horror 5)Method 6)Gravel 7)Industry 8)Blind 9)Protect 10)Mortem
