Review: Ok, yes this is a really good demo, the best demo I've heard in a long while... truth is I haven't listened to that many demos lately but still... Embryonic Cryptopathia plays some very nasty, basic and visceral Goregrind. It's played by members of some of the vilest Us drum machine grind acts (Psychosadistic Haterapist, Erotonomicon & Microphallus) ... Let me describe this the only way I know how... by comparing it to other bands... The guitar riffs sound like stuff from the first Dead Infection demo, played with a gut-wrenching fury akin to early Squash Bowels ("Dead" demo & Split w/ Malignant Tumour) and grinding and chaotic song structures really resembling those of Last Days of Humanity... All of this sprinkled with a bit of the old Retaliation sound back when they were into gore... Just really exquisite, grabbing goregrind with a quite heavy but still rancid/obscure/raw demo sound! It's got everything: exciting stereotypical old school pathological goregrind song titles, a killer band name... Embryonic Cryptopathia! and don't forget the very cool crummy-looking logo that goes with it... I say this band is cult already! So, yeah... this demo is the stuff! Get it at all cost, although a few bucks should be enough...

ENGORGED "Death Metal Attack"

Review: The main musical core of this band is brutal death metal, of course, but some brutal crust-hardcore touches à la Extreme Noise Terror are incorporated, as well as a bunch of bestial grindcore assaults and a few groovy heavy metal riffs... Engorged brilliantly use, transform and mix the influences they bring to create their own metal style and brutal sound... Everything is going very fast, never lingering a very long time over the same thing, with varied rythms; and varied vocals, running several extreme ways of pestilential oral violence, like growling, mid-high-pitched screaming, also freshened with exciting gut-wrenching harmonized effects. Played with skilful musicianship, a great sense of composition, to make catchy and brutal constructed songs... Well, lyrics are violent and provocative; but didn't really leave a mark in my mind! Same for the cover, representing a wicked snake, which is not truly outstanding! Anyway; the musical content honestly worths your listening! Do not miss their upcoming long length cd on Razorback Records!

EXCRET  "Promo' 99"

Review: Nice tape. By two german grind thugs Gorehunter & 180° (involved in already legendary dirty grind-gore projects/bands, Cadaverous Suppuration, & Carnal Shroud/Ulcerrhoea) playing dirty raw grind under wormy nicks of Cestodes & Taeniasis. A little crust touch, and a perfect sense of what fine raw extreme music should be. There are two types of vocals, one low-pitched with effects (I suppose these are effects), and another one more high-pitched, and manic. Basic guitar riffs, great drumming, mostly crusty rythms, not much blasts, but always something really intense. It's not complicated! Simple things are the best ones! Only 6 tracks including 2 cover versions of Gore Beyond Necropsy & early S.O.B, a piss-encrusted raw sound, ravenous shit! Just too short!! I want more wonderful stuff like that!

Review: Here's a short but intense demo. This is inhumanly harsh noise with a smidge of grind... This stuff is screeching & crashing all over the place! It's pretty de-structured, although some sparks of life is injected into this chaos via grind blasts, over-saturated vocals and a nice variety of sound textures and filtery effects... As far as noise goes this is definitely not monotonous stuff... Tons of changes and rapid cuts, some obsessive movie samples also help keeping things interesting... An ultra-violent, hyper-charged, ham-fisted and sort of trippy noise band that really lives up to their name! This is a duo and the guy behind most of this noise, Mason, has been involved in things like Blower & Enemy Soil in the past... Recommended to noisefreaks or adventurous grindheads...

EXPOSED GUTS "Ultimate Gore Assault"

Review: Here comes the second Exposed Guts demo tape, it just came out. Like Markus said, they put more death metal influences into their style (especially on the last song, "Contaminated entrails"). It's a little more technical with clearer, more precise thrashy riffs. But basicly, their personal touch is the same, always very brutal, pounding and heavy. With ultra low-pitched guttural growls and a few putrid screamy backing whispers. The drums are programmed, but have an incredible, tight, hammering impact sound. Rythms are mostly fast, and blasting. Song structures are really nice and coherent. If you like great basic brutal catchy death/grind like Mortician and Drogheda, you will like Exposed Guts. The cover is a little less graphical than the first demo, but this time it contains the lyrics (cool gory stuff, like early Dead Infection & Mortician...). Features 5 kick-ass songs with a good sound. Gore freaks, look out for this german band... Let there be gore! If you have 6 DM (Germany), 4 US$ (Europe), 5 US$ (World) to spend for cool death-grind stuff, don't hesitate!

EXPOSED GUTS "Taste of Human Flesh"

Review: Here is one another wonderful band from Germany. They play uncompromising blasting death-grind. The programmed drums give them a blunt, brutal, basic & catchy feeling. Perhaps in the vein of Mortician or Drogheda. Rythms range from extreme fast blastbeats, to rolling slow parts & violent midtempos... Guitars are no technical bullshit, just essential, simple & efficient grind riffs. Maybe not thrashy enough but very heavy and abrupt though. Vocals are totally low-pitched (without effects) & sick squeaks appear from time to time. All the songs are well-made, with a worked, tasty exciting structure. And another good thing: the use of intro movie samples from some Peter Jackson's masterpieces, like Braindead (aka Dead Alive) & Bad Taste... with most famous quotes: "The bastards have landed...", "Party's over..." or "I kick ass for the lord..." You know what I mean if your a P.J. freak! The running time is also quite long for a demonstration tape. The major part of a 45 minutes tape side. The cover packaging is really cool with lots of gory collages & their great logo, made by great Luisma (Haemorrhage) - Song titles are real splattery. Review: ...Excellent patho Grind/Gore/Death: very early Carcass of course and very Flesh Grinder without the boring parts. Their sound is raw but actually quite sharp and clear. Compositions are very fast-paced, the drummer handles himself very well, he is tight and pretty speedy; there are two vocal types here: pitch-shifted gory gurgles and Jeff Walker-like mid-high shrieks... Guitars are thrashy and intricate, and they have a raw and dirty feel to them. It's not perfect, but very well-composed and rich grind-gore. 6 really neat and warped grind-gore songs. catchy and never boring. Pathological grind-gore fans should eat this up!

"Rotten Process" is the first demo tape from this guys from Joinville. The songs are very powerfull grind with brutal death metal touch, the lyrics are not in a pathologic way, it's about cannibalism, mutilations and others gore stuffs. The vocals are a mix of growling and screaming, heavy riffs and smashing beats. This is a good demo tape from this great original gore/grind band from Brazil..

Something goes really really wrong in these guys head. Frankensperm is some good french grind-noise. Really cheezy with lots of scatological fun, stomach turning gooey porn jokes, stupid intros and, important thing not to forget about: ultrabrutal noisecore. This band has members from Gronibard, so it's the same vein, maybe even worse. It's part musical with stupid slide trombone parts (the best moment is when they play Star Wars theme!!!) and part seriously savage ultra-blasting grindnoise in old Anal Cunt or Infected Pussy vein. Vocals are ultra low chunky growls coming from the pits of hell, coupling with some more high pitched, damn funny and quite childish lalala manic screams. This is stupid grind-noise, with a great original use of trombone. I don't think any noise band ever thought about using a damn trombone before. So... you just have to hear that. I guess Frankensperm recorded this demo for people to listen to it. So Grind-noise freaks move your fat asses and get this piece of noise sewage right now. Anal Cunt, Anal Massaker, Infected Pussy & Gronibard fans will surely love it!
