Review:
So this is it... That's the new album by Neuro-Visceral Exhumation, without doubt my favorite band from Brazil. It seems the band's line-up has been downsized as the band picture only exhibits 2 members... Still, the third member (vocals & bass) apparently had a large part in the recording of the album anyway... Anyhow, I remember being very positively impressed by their first offering "Mass Murder Festival"... And this new one, I think, lives up to it... This is simply some truly enjoyable Goregrind. Sound has a crispy, raw edge but with a definite depth to it, some really gorgeous heaviness... Guitars are totally downtuned and bass comes with some nice distort... Drumming is insanely catchy, ultrafast, blasting or mid-paced/groovy, this is some superb drumming work, tight and really skilful. Neuro-Visceral most obvious resemblances are Dead Infection, "Surgical Disembowelment" era for the more mid-paced moments (infectious rhythms and beautiful riffing simplicity), Last Days of Humanity for the faster, grindier and goriest parts (furious drumming blasts, infamous rattling gurgles and all...) And finally there's an overall air of Hemdale (for all the downtuned, heavy guitars and otherwise screamy vocals...) You can clearly discern some death metal influences too... You'd think an Incantation cover version in a goregrind record would stick out like a sore thumb but it actually blends in pretty well here; because well, there's a certain doomy vibe to NVE's style as well... Something else worthy of note is the other cover version, around the end of the album, this time of Repulsion's "Helga Lost her Fuckin' Head" which is a definite highlight in the whole cd for me! This band makes some odd but interesting cover version choices, I like it! In short, this is some fine grind, well-balanced, with just the right amount of crunchy rawness, heaviness, speed and sickness... Makes me feel all warm inside! Layout art is easy on the eye and it comes as a pretty neat digipack! Recommended.

Tracks: 1)Hang Em On Their Guts 2)Sinister Traces Of Violence 3)Homicide Is On My Side 4)The Human Society Wants More Gore 5)From Eva Comes My Obsession 6)Profanation 7)Hatred-Bloodbath And Hecatombe 8)Hatefilled Atrocities       9)Hit Me With Dead Flesh 10)Stabbing Cranial Tumours 11)Fisically Humiliated 12)Handsaw Rectal Abortion 13)Insanity By Female Anatomy 14)Unfinishing Bleedings 15)Helga 16)Washed In Recto-Visceral Secretions In A Collective Carnage Post Intercourse

Review:
Now seriously, this album is outstanding! I haven't heard a band that captures the essence of how gore-grind should sound so perfectly in a damn long while... Neuro-Visceral Exhumation really is spot-on gore-grind to me... it's like if they were picking up where Malignant Tumour left off a few years ago. Remember that Malignant Tumour Split Cd w/ Squash Bowels? Well these guys sound a awful lot like this, the merciless riffing of Dead Infection, the genius grind (and slightly crust-core-tinted) simplicity of early Agathocles and the sickening vibe of Pathologist, plus a little CBT. They're rampant, heavy and gory but they strike hard and fast at the same time. Vocals are growled, spewed and gurgled, guitars are truly down-tuned, riffs are crude, basic and heavy, drumming is steadily grinding, always varied, swift and fast. This is my favorite type of grindy goodness! So I give this near full-marks, I'm not sure it's really fair but I don't care, I know my ratings are pretty much bullcrap by now... That's just the excitement level I'm in listening to this cd; and I wish more bands had barely half of this band's energy and shattering sound. A truly grand gore-grind album to me then. The sound production is exactly the right amount of clean, heavy and raw, the cover artwork and layout by Sacha of CBT fame is definitely slick; grotesque yet beautiful. There's no lyrics included but judging by the album and song titles, N.V.E. traded their usual pathological shtick for a pretty extreme mass murder approach (something more in the spirit of Catasexual Urge Motivation). The 2 or 3 horror-oriented intro samples might be a little unnecessary but they're still effective and kept to a minimum. Overall, this stuff kicks major ass! And wait till you hear Neuro-Visceral Exhumation's rendition of "After Accident" (one of my all-time fave Dead Infection tracks)... This is the absolute must-hear kind of gore-grind junk... Get it or die!

Tracks: 1)Forcible sexual intercourse 2)Ultra massive assassination procedure 3)Subcutaneous defleshment (Part II) 4)Carnal Temptation drives me to rape and mutilation 5)Mass murder festival 6)Anti-Human 7)Die Human Race 8)Fatal Anal Sexual Disembowelment 9)Lifelock (gory version) 10)Horrid animal experiments ... in the name of science 11)Exterminate the mankind 12)Female torso collection 13)Anal gut extirpation through her groins 14)Washed in recto-visceral secretions in a collective carnage post inetrcourse 15)After Accident (Dead Indection) 16)Thrill to kill 17)Legalize rapes ... for a happier humanity 18)How to hide a ravished body ... bathtub with sulfuric acid
