| Review:
That's one
insane band. I didn't get the band name back when I got
the first demo, it's No-ism, meaning their concept is to
not have a concept: they don't have lyrics, or cover
artwork or anything. On this one they even sent the
vocals to hell. Which is fine, to me; that makes them
really original and unusual. Although I think most people
won't be ready for it, most people wants the vocals in
their metal. What we really have here are complex
entanglements of ultrabrutal outbreaks, cleverly handed
technical brutal death metal riffs that can suddenly go
completely crazy in some sort of schizophrenic avalanche.
It's down-tuned, very fast, but totally controlled. Some
kind of contained brutality that can burst out any time.
There's a relentless drum machine beat pounding all the
way around, very fast stuff too that changes direction
every five second. A few obssessive and repetitive
samplings of some parts of songs are also thrown in for
good measure, as well as weird sorta computerized noises.
It's pretty much dementia translated into sounds... I'm
sure it will sound "naked" to some, because
it's instrumental stuff. And it's kinda experimental too.
Personally, I was impressed, it's totally intense and
breath-taking; that's a band with a unique vision and
true consistence, even if their concept is about
nothingness. As for my usual references to other bands,
this time I'd have to go with Nile, except it's
instrumental here, Noism have the same type of clear and
heavy sound, fast riffs and insane technicity. Alot of
these tracks are available for download on Noism website:

interested. You can also get a CD-R of this stuff for 5$

"Brutality
and complexity" Demo Promo Cd Release date: 2000 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Review: The title sums all this up pretty
well. Here we get clean, sharp and fast brutal death-grind.
A brilliant mastery and control of sheer brutality. Into
definitely complex (no boring technical crap though) and
straightforward song structures. This is really well-performed,
from the catchy drum programming to the heavy powerful
guitar riffs and the inhumanly deep guttural growls. It
definitely makes adrenaline flows in buckets when you
play it real loud. I'm certain most brutal death metal
freaks will easily get into it, because it is basicly
brutal death metal stuff. But I personally feel it goes
beyond simple death metal, especially for the song
construction work. The sound is really clear, and there's
pure and simple tone to it, but there are also a few
interesting sound or structural experimentation,
especially the repetive bumping ultralow and heavy sound
(my stereo didn't quite liked it though). This is a 2
piece band from Japan, which quite worths a try coz it's
something really unique and independant... and their
material just kicks some serious ass! |
