Review: What we have here is a spanking new album from this polish grind powerhouse! Pretty much an improvement on every aspect compared to their previous effort... Most instantly noticeable is the gorgeous cover art, as well as the awesome black & white interior zombified band member drawings (really eclipsing the awkward "Graveyard Cowboys" band photo layout...) And as you play this baby, the opening song greets you with face-ripping riffs, blistering speed, and a crushing sound production that fits the band's music perfectly: it's just superb, heavy but with more of a natural crunch than on the last cd. Musically, the band seems to switch between two different modes, the main thing being flawlessly executed, effortlessly catchy, hyper-energetic grind/death, short and to the point (at times reminiscing Repulsion with an updated punching sound à la Nasum or Birdflesh)... And the second being groovier, heavier death/rock type of stuff, very Pungent Stench and very Blood Duster (from which they even cover "Pornstiffi" by the way, openly giving away their influences). Honestly, the rock thing can be a little over the top at times, like on the track "Plan 9 from Outer Space", but for the most part it's pretty well-handled. Still in my opinion, the more grind-oriented styling is where the band really shines, an entire album of just grind would have upped my rating of another point... Song-writing is quite breath-taking, fluid, fast-paced, mixed with refreshing groove, all that with the addition of the impressively limpid sound production, results is some very superior grind! Vocals alternate between raging grindcore shouts and gorier roaring growls. The last half of this cd are bonus tracks taken from Neuropathia's old demo from 1998, this stuff is a sort of goregrind classic, nothing short of sheer genius, in an edgier, old school goregrind vein, with strictly pitch shifted vocals and bad-ass riffage, and it sounds better than ever here... I have some reservations about the intro samples though which I assume were added for this release (as I don't seem to remember the original tracks coming with intros); The samples on the first half of this cd work just great, but these bonus tracks are cluttered with intros often too lengthy and mixed way too loud compared to the music level... Really, the material is so awesome by itself, there really was no need for some additional intros... But that's just nitpicking... The final 3 Impetigo/Repulsion/Brutal Truth come with the rawest recording sound on here but these cover versions are still awesome, Neuropathia doesn't screw around with their cover versions, and provide really tight renditions, a really neat way to end the album. All in all, a first rate rocking grind/gore album and killer bonus tracks, definitely not to be missed!
