MORGUE SUPPLIER "Sociopath" Split Cd

Release date: 2004
Running time: 31:15

Review:
Fierce, grinding Brutal Death Metal of the most intense kind, with almost constantly blasting drumming, chainsaw guitar riffing, roaring, abrasive vocals... It reminds me of Cryptopsy & Suffocation in a way, but also mixed with some Inhume/Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition type death/grind... Guitar work is fast and pretty intricate with a slightly technical edge, the band tries avoiding playing the same riff too many times in a row and songs are in perpetual movement, the band does a great job keeping things exciting at all times... Drumming sounds a little mechanical, but this is the actual, tightly performed, live drumming and it's often extremely fast at that! Vocals oscillate between rather growling and screamy but either way they're always kind of harsh and piercing to the ear... This new Morgue Supplier material leaves me with a far better impression than the stuff I've heard from them in the past, this is simply quality, proficient brutal death metal, played with great conviction... Lyrics are printed and deal with not just gore but still obviously violence and really dark subject matter... This seems to be a self-produced cd but it's very done, great work all around!

MORGUE SUPPLIER "Not Dead Enough" Cd

Release date: 2001

Review: Love the title, "Not Dead Enough". The pictures on the cover and cd are those of a guy and a girl playing with a dead body, I've already seen them on the net, it's pretty sick. Yuck. OK, so Morgue Supplier, from Illinois. They're tough, brutal death metal like, say, Suffocation on "Human Waste", with a slight stale smell of grind. Songs have the structure of brutal death metal, an entanglement of thrashing guitar riffs, brutish drums, a whole nightmarish feel, relentless bestial growlings with a touch of gore. Definitely scary and intense. The grind part makes me think of Intense Hammer Rage, it's this kind of filthy suffocating atmosphere. They're real dense and thick, which is a good thing, although personally, I'm quickly out of breath with this kind of stuff. Maybe more variations and breaks would be nice. But this is a demo, and the sound is quite raw, that's probably why. I think brutal death metal works better with good sound production. So if Morgue Supplier gets a better sound someday, they should really kick ass. The lyrics are quite good for gore stuff. If you appreciate sickening brutality and gruesome brutal death, Morgue Supplier's for you.
