M.D.U. "The Blaireau Project" Review: Wacky grind-noise... and it's french. They didn't wise up since their last stuff, but it was predictable. The what's the hell factor is still there. It consists in quite regular grind-noise à la Anal Cunt with more death metal style song constructions. Song titles are mostly porn concerns, everything that's tasteless and piss poor jokes only frenchies can get. You gotta love the lyrics though... and the band picture, black metal spirit, with oversized medieval weapons, swords and cardboard axes... OK. It's stupid, I guess you got that, but it grinds quite hard and it's a fun listen. Noise freaks everywhere can try it, but only french guys are inclined to appreciate the humour.
SALE HOPE "J'ai les Kros"
Review: Right away, Sale Hope manages to be even more tasteless than M.D.U. with the cover photo. No Well-spirited band was gonna share a split with M.D.U. just yet. So, well, this band's grind-death is pretty close to their split mate's... It also reminded me Hideous Mangleus and Intense Hammer Rage just to give away some references... Hum. It's a fun listen also, but it doesn't really have a huge re-listen value. So, don't expect a musical revolution, but their stuff is quite potent when played loud enough, it has some groove, good riffing, rolling drums and some quite effective grind power. |
