MORBID SAVOURING "Insensitivicious" Cd

(Murder the World)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 40:59

Review:
This is porn/gore/grind/death from Finland, musically the band is efficient, heavy and menacing, with thrashing riffs, distorted bass sound and pretty damn sick vocals. Songs are really tight, the sound is quite clear and powerful but also with a raw, heavy and really gory edge. Personally, they remind me of Gut for the sickening vibe, rawness and bitch scream-type vocals, mixed with Mortician for the heavy and mincing riffs and the more guttural vocals... The stuff really works like a mix of fast death-grind-gore and mid-tempo porn/grind... The band's got a perverse vibe of their own and their stuff is quite catchy. Now lyrically this is pretty awful, extreme, mean-spirited crap... rape, torture, all kinds of sleaze and even... kiddieporn. The lyrics are all included in great details (how generous of them!) and well be sure you can take the most twisted porn fantasies and provocative ideas out there before you get this... Intros are mostly from documentary, tv shows, etc... Cover is yet another great looking artwork by Jake (Tales From Uranus comic book)... Overall a very well-made cd, sound's great... but the subject matter's really appalling though, get it at your own risk.

Tracks: )Into the intercourse/After sperm will urine flow )Maggots in your womb )Urea tea )Crushed in the cradle )Waste of talent )Two in one )Severely bruised genitalia )Retained virginity )Dual-fisted whore )Smooth female skin )Trauma children )Harbinger of vaginal excoriation )Groinsport )Extreme rectal wank )All hail McDonald's )105 )Punch-fuck abomnation )Jennifer Lopez )Forced to fuck with a bottle and bat )A Black Body bag )Instead of rape I just killed her )Gnawing on her labium )Brutal insolence )Tormented insolence )Tormented slavery )Vermiculated )China vagina )Incest grind )Piss-o-matic

BLOOD FREAK "Sleaze Merchants" Cd

(Razorback Records)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 37:05

Review:
Never heard of gringore pioneers Blood Freaks before? Well me neither... This album is outrageously advertised as being recorded in INSERT HUGE SCEPTIC QUOTEMARKS "1990"... You can even hear bonus tracks from the, erm... "1988 demo"! With a great attention paid to details, these demo tracks are in a totally different style from the rest of the album, they actually sound alot like Rigor Mortis (pre-Immolation) demo recordings! Ha ha! Ok, this really is excellent grind-gore, it's got the bad-ass old school Repulsion vibe alright but it also sounds very much like a mix of modern thrashing grind/gore like Gruesome Stuff Relish and Ghoul... The sound production is strong and heavy but maintaining a raw edge, songs are all little gems, with very basic and straightforward structures but still swarming with maddening grind riffs, alot of thrashing parts, some twisted, screaming guitar soli, and even a bit of groove in the early Blood Duster vein. Vocals are part growls, part shrieks, part gut-wrenching pitch-shifted grunts... Musicanship is suspiciously expert for such an old band... Ok, I'll drop more references like General Surgery, Necrony, Impaled... The album is also packed with gore imagery of course... Cheesy & creepy old horror movie trailers and samples served as interludes between songs, in good old Impetigo fashion. And an absolutely amazing cover artwork by Chas Balun, which is a composition made of stills from Dawn of the Dead, Zombi 2, Cannibal Holocaust, Blood Feast & Maniac... This is assuredly quality grind/gore/thrash, with a perfect cheesy horror wrapping... a quintessential Razorback band and a must-have record for anyone even remotely interested in grind & horror!

Tracks: 1)Warning 2)Feast of the Undead 3)Blood, blood, and more blood! 4)Grinding up the Dead 5)Bloodthristy Butchers from Beyond 6)Flesheaters from Outerspace 7)The Gruesome Gorehounds 8)Infested with Worms 9)The Cult of the Cannibal Freaks 10)I Rip Your Flesh 11)Gobble up your Guts 12)The Slaughterhouse 13)You are what we eat! 14)Werewolf a-Gore-Gore 15)Kill! Kill! Kill! 16)A brutal orgy of ghastly terror! 17)Awakening the beast 18)Insane for gore 20)I said... murder 21)Dr. cannibal 22)A Happy Ending

THE KILL "The Soundtrack to your Violence" Mcd

(No Escape Records)
Release date:
2003
Running time: ...

Review:
This is relentless australian grindcore at its best, fucking tight with abrasive screaming and shrieking vocals, flesh-ripping riffs, fast assaultive drumming and monstrous intensity... Ok, it's quite a bit different from the band's previous releases, especially the sound production which is alot clearer (don't worry though it's still raw as hell!), and the thrashing guitar riffs which are much more controlled and intricate. Anyway, this is still uncompromising and ultraviolent grind with excellent chemistry and timing, the type of grind where every listening is energy-draining... Songs are all strictly speed-driven, always swiftly moving forward, with constant tempo-changes and snappy breaks but at the time kept to basic structures/stripped of any unnecessary parts, just pure sonic aggression; freaking concise and expeditious ... The cover of Napalm Death's song "The Kill" from which the band borrowed the name is a very nice treat too. The cd's running time is short but so fucking intense, it has alot more impact than any long length albums I'm hearing... Oh and The Exorcist movie still is just perfect for this record instilling pure negativity at its simple sight! I'm a bit sad this is a posthumous release because The Kill was one of the most promising grind bands I've heard in many years! Needless to say, this one is an absolute must-have!

Tracks: 1)Axe Attack 2)We Want Blood 3)Walking Dead 4)This One Hurts 5)The Kill 6)Tracksuit Pants are Thrash 7)Fashion Victim 8)Junkies Records 9)Jandimara's Burning 10)Fuck Emo 11)Gore 12)Dead Babies 13)Metal Spastic 14)Blown Noise

BUTCHER ABC "Butchered at Birth Day" Mcd

(Obliteration Records)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 13:15

Review:
Butcher ABC is in my opinion one of Japan's leading gore bands... I had heard demo & live recordings of them before, but this studio material sounds really amazing, the excellent heavy and raw sound production is perfect for Butcher's gore-encrusted death/grind... The downtuned as hell guitar riffs, dirty bass sound, pounding drums, disgruntled growls & throaty shrieks are all delivered with disgusting chemistry, very much in the spirit of german bands like Dead, Gut & Sanity's Dawn... It's crushing heavy, mostly mid-tempo paced, very catchy and with that sickening vibe running through it... It's all played in pure japanese style too, with fine musical slaughter savoir-faire... it's definitely got a great grind edge. Lyrics aren't so memorable though, they mostly sound like a patchwork of catch-phrases taken from various other bands' lyrics... But the band's very fun, putrid and pretty slick-sounding, overall this release is extremely well put together. Hence a recommendation from me.

Tracks: 1)Hell awake 2)Dozen of dismembered torsos 3)Maximum rotting corpse 4)Morbider engel des todes 5)Butchered at birth day

LENG TCH'E "Manmadepredator" Cd

(The Spew)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 29:05

Review:
Very good second album by this belgian band... This isn't exactly grindcore to me, the metal aspect is really stronger than anything else here in my opinion... It's extremely fast, groovy and energic death metal with a catchy Terrorizer-type grinding touch sure, but the guitar riffing is quite complex, thrashing and slightly melodic; they're close enough to Inhumate, very intense and diversified. They also remind me of Nembrionic on their album "Psycho One Hundred" I don't know if anybody remembers that band, but the mix of thrashing and pretty technical riffs, death metal heaviness and grindcore speed is strikingly similar. Vocals are dual aggressive roars and manic shrieks... The other main thing that takes the metal feeling of the whole thing even further is the fancy sound production, which sounds perfect, not one blemish nor one cracking sound, totally heavy, personally I like my grind slightly rawer, it's part of what gives good grind its edge in my opinion. But anyway, yeah this is highly enjoyable, intense grinding death metal, the band is direct and always goes straight to the point, not one boring moment really; Lyrically, songs are pretty much personal opinions about all kinds of random stuff... nothing that really grabs the attention in my opinion. A neat and effective album anyway!

Tracks: 1)The meaning of life 2)Public domain N°1 3)Too stupid to live 4)5 minutes of fame 5)You fat prick 6)the queen of egoism 7)Time is against me 8)The happy retard 9)Popularity contest 10)Sleazebag 11)God - mass hysteria 12)All hippies are dropouts 13)I'm afraid of people 14)Life is an S.t.d. 15)Still from da hood 16)Nothing to be proud of 17)Fuck off coz I hate you all 18)Sick brutal gore bastard (keep it fucking sick) 19)Crucial 4 life

WARSCARS "Killing Rate: Complete" Mcd

(Bones Brigade)
Release date:
2003

Review:
This is a side-project by members of french band Gronibard, apparently an attempt at more serious grindcore... There is still some Gronibard stylings into Warscars, some of the screamy vocals are similar, as well as some catchy thrashing grind riffs... This is really solid stuff, very fast, pretty catchy and aggressive, but this is not pure grindcore according to me, the sound production is so damn crystal-clear and heavy as hell, this type of polished sound production inevitably make things sound a lot more metal and takes away essential raw grind energy, but this is only my personal taste. Songs seem to be about... war or something, I'm not sure, it doesn't sound like something extremely political, but they use the crust-core type "shocking war picture" type of imagery. Anyway, this is an excellent outing, if you like french grindcore/metal bands like Blockheads or Inhumate, I'm pretty sure you're gonna dig this as well... Top-notch sound production, strong song writing and execution, this Warscars band is definitely something worth checking out!

Tracks: 1)Thinking is boring 2)Loser 666 3)Warscars 4)Killing rate: complete 5)Already one foot in the grave 6)Not dead yet 7)Game over 8)the gothic chainsaw massacre

NOISECORE FREAK "Corner itch Theory" Cd

(Deadsix Communications)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 32:54

Review:
Very interesting canadian band oscillating between harsh noise/power electronics, noise/ambient and pounding, chaotic drum-machine grindcore. This is an extremely intense mix of insane genres... very well-crafted too... you've got layers upon layers of movie samples, often looped and repetitious creating bizarre and eerie atmospheres... Then saturated piercing noise parts kick in every now and then, as well as grindcore parts of course... the grindcore parts are extremely effective and devastating, with twisted, fast and furious song structures, blasting programmed drums, wild unpredictable guitar riffs... all in all I'd say these parts are pretty close to something like Agoraphobic Nosebleed... But this is a very schizophrenic record, constantly switching from a certain type of atmosphere to another one that's radically different, from soothing ambient, to unbearable noise and grinding ultraviolence. Everything's expertly mixed together and it's got a fine, quite heavy and wrapping sound production; If you like your grindcore varied, weird and original, you should love this grindcore/industrial noise hybrid...

Tracks: 1)Jag Disturbance 2)Rough Cuts 3)Wall Mannequin 4)@Fix 5)Tin Liver Molecule 6)H 7)Stitch Collar Radio 8)Seag Hinge 9)Comic Dead Nature 10)Limbfilter 11)Coma Dog 12)Harsh Bedwire 13)Motel 6 Scars 14)Gash Pictorial 15)Mill Dim Z 16)Hang Door 17)Seeping Iron Fence

THE DAY EVERYTHING BECAME NOTHING "LeMORT" Cd

(No Escape Records)
Release date:
2003

Review:
There's a new, surprising band, their name definitely sound like a hardcore/metal band name, but the music is actually very nice grind-death, in the vein of Pungent Stench and with a touch of CBT with a whole midtempo Gore/Grind thing going on. There are members from Blood Duster & Fuck... I'm Dead in the band. I gotta say it's also got a slight Blood Duster vibe as well... Some solid groove and catchy rock riffs, but for the most part this is blasting, heavy and grinding material you've find here... Vocals are heavily effected roars, drums are tight on every area, fast or midtempo, guitars are quite downtuned and heavy with real catchy thrashing riffs. The sound production is pretty stunning: sharp, clean & quite powerful. There's a very nice looking cover layout, nothing truly eye catching but still very neat looking. The one word song titles don't sound like anything special, and no lyrics to be found here, I'm not sure what the band is writing about, doesn't seem mind-blowing anyway. All in all, good stuff, pretty gory, slightly grindy although it's very metal-sounding, just so you know... CBT fans should love this...

Tracks: 1)Revisionist 2)Naked 3)Subtext 4)Horror 5)Method 6)Gravel 7)Industry 8)Blind 9)Protect 10)Mortem

CBT "Sadochismo" Cd

(The Spew)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 40:56

Review:
Ok, this is not exactly new CBt stuff, it's a re-issue of the same album that originally came out on Ablated Records, which apparently screwed the band (and the reason why this was re-issued I imagine). Anyway, the album itself is just great. The style here is quite different from their early material ("Cocktales", etc...) and in my opinion closer to Mucupurulent on "Sicko Babe", a more natural and flowing midtempo "Gore/Grind" still filled with sharp, ripping & thrashing riffs, over-the-top gurgling vocals (effects are barely used, perhaps not used at all, I can't really tell) and tight, pounding drums (mostly mid-tempo). The stuff here is just catchy as hell, really riveting from start to finish. Well-oiled song structures, driving riffs, dynamic songs... Slightly groovy but delivered in a very cold way as usual. The sound production is immaculate, really clear and effective. I'd say this is a must-have for fans of the genre! Imagery and lyrics are in a sado-masochistic vein, fetish and all that kind of stuff... With occasionally some pretty intense intro samples; there's not that many of them really, they're definitely nasty but not too intrusive with the music. Anyway, yeah this is just excellent, some of the best CBT stuff I've heard, no contest.

Tracks: 1)Where girls learn to piss on command 2)Heterosexual testoterone compressor 3)Enema bulldozer 4)Instant onanizer 5)Whoredom sonata 6)Aphroisianus 7)Colon latino 8)Kamikaze incest 9)Caudal armada 10)Multiple slave sex 11)kilstier power 12)Faggot filter 13)Cellulite convoy 14)G-Spot gigolo 15)Supreme genital goddess
