	FETUS EATERS "Mediocore" Cdr
	(Vomitcore Music) Release date: 2004 Running time: 32:06 Review: If you were expecting literal George Eastman-inspired goregrind with a fetus-eating concept from this band, then you were wrong. This is raging grindcore with slight free jazz/noisecore and sludge touches to it; here's even a saxophone in there... All things considered I'd say it pretty much sounds like a mixture of Dismembered Fetus/Captain 3 Leg, late Brutal Truth, Unholy Grave and Naked City. Song titles are smart-ass/sarcastic in the spirit of Anal Cunt, only perhaps on a slightly less offensive level. For the most part, this stuff's blazing fast, blistering, grinding and basicly just really really wild. This is all well-performed and effective stuff, but made in a clearly tongue-in-cheek way. It's also very vocal with alot of dual insane & non-sensical high shrieking/absurd low growling. Anyway, I really got a kick out of this stuff, it's really hard-hitting, catchy... Just really quirky... It's got a really effective violent impact of a sound... but in there are also a lot of pretty bizarre, sludgy parts and some chaotic free jazz-type saxophone passages; but this stuff is not technical or anything... I can assure you it's all designed to rip you a new one! Sound production is pretty decent to me, quite well-balanced... Be warned though, there's a large amount of rawness to their sound, but that's how I like it prsonally so... Definitely superior, raw and twisted grindcore. Worth checking out... 	DEADFOOD/ IRRITATE Split 7" Ep
	(Vomitcore Music - 002) Release date: 2004 Deadfood Review: Weird ass, jazzy but pretty extreme metal with a fun use of very cheesy keyboards which conflicts with nasty and assaultive mid-range screamy vocals... in result this is somewhat similar to Mr. Bungle with maybe a pinch of Naked City... This stuff sounds so oddball, it's almost endeering, easy-listening mixed extreme aggression... Ok, I'm not saying I'd listen to this all the time but it's well-played and pretty entertaining overall... If you're up for something different. Irritate Review: I was under the impression that this finnish band was more grindcory sounding, but as a matter of fact their stuff sounds more like sludgy death metal mixed with rock n' roll here... It's breaked up by a few brief crusty speeding-ups but nothing majorly grindy really... Just mid-tempo stuff with some heavy riffing similar to Cathedral and the likes... It's got totally low growling vocals though. The first song is actually just a few second short... and the second one takes up most of the running time. 	WATCH ME BURN Cdr
	(Vomitcore Music) Release date: 2004 Review: This is some aggressive and extreme sludge/hardcore/metal with a female singer, her vocals are raspy and mostly pretty screamy/high-pitched. Guitars are thrashing, with some heavy riffing, sometimes melodic and often sludgy, drumming is pretty rhythmic and groovy, mostly mid-paced but occasionally mixed with some fast blasts and stuff. This is all pretty weird musically, some really out there song structures à la Cephalic Carnage and even some inklings of Dillinger Escape Plan. Sound production is pretty clean, although a little hollow a times. Decent band, but I'm just not a fan of their style... a little too screamy, a tad too jazzy/technical... some of the more grindy songs are fun but most of the slow-paced parts are quite dull... it just does nothing for me... 	KANIBALBLOODBATH/CSMD Split Cdr (Dvd case)
	(VoltagestressR010) CSMD Review:* Uk-based label Voltagestress specialises in everything harsh and noisy, this nice split cdr is the first of a whole batch I'm about to review... So if you don't like noisecore, poke up your ears... Ok, this starts off with a nice intro from Beneath the Planet of the Apes and it rapidly degenrates into CSMD's usual brand of traumatic noisecore/grind/crust: abrasive, lofi, muffled sound quality, a lot of bass on the forefront, chaotic drum blasts and extremely pissed off shouting vocals... This sounds alot like Napalm Death "Scum" era/Fear of God to my ears but with a definite tendency towards harsher noise, abstract improvisation and even totally whacked out rock n' roll at times... Some nice and trippy sci fi interludes here and there as well... All in all, just a very enjoyable noise holocaust! Kannibal Bloodbath Review: This is mind-boggling harsh, intense and vivid noise, something that sounds totally out of this world! Grating incidental sound textures triturated and tortured beyond belief, writhing in pain, stretched and ruptured, buzzing, resonating, screaming... Tracks are all very brief but each of em seem enough to provoke tumor metastasis through your whole organism! This shit is fucking raw and definitely not for the faint of heart, so now you're warned... 	(VoltagestressR013) Review:* Here's a noise duo themed after Herschell Gordon Lewis's Blood Feast: gotta love this! 3 extremely noisy tracks with more of an ambient haunting vibe, first track is fairly short, the second track is longer, starting as a calm humming squeal progressively getting louder, nastier, more and more blistering to the point of becoming completely deafening by the end of it! Third track is 23 more minutes of this amorphous racket: disturbing, patience-testing, nerve-racking junk that'll only leave you with buzzing ears and a headache... For hardened noisefreaks only! 	(VoltagestressR011) Review:* Nightmarish, messed up noisecore! More or less harsh-sounding depending on the track, but overall pretty fucking rough and demented... It's sometimes extremely hard to decipher, but instruments are actually used: blistering guitar noise, crude drumming and also vocals (absurd screams and shouts)... I'd say this is some pretty intense improvised, chaotic noise not without a few grindcore overtones but obviously in a totally de-structured way and a especially dirtied down, harsh sound quality... 	(Voltagestress - R012) Review:* This 3 way harsh noise split cdr starts with a live recording of Filthy Turd which is basicly a long 16 minutes dirty feedback ending with some applause from the audience! Next up is Romance also live delivering a bombardment of crunchy, tortuous raw noise... simply a bubbling, sizzling choatic mess, alot of feedback and reverb, and well just literal harsh noise... guaranteed to drive you insane; oh and some more applause from the audience on this one, how about an encore?! Last but not least is Feast of Ishtar with a song called "Playmate of the Year" most certainly dedicated the female star of Blood Feast! This is again some well felt aggressive, sense-raping, screaming harsh noise which brought back fond memories of dentists drilling into my teeth! 	(Voltagestress - R008) Review:* Soaring noise from Filthy Turd... Just noise, noise and more noise... Bubbling, humming, ringing, crunching for about 18 minutes straight in a live performance... As for Romance, this is also scathing harsh noise closing with people clapping their hands! In case nervous breakdown hasn't kicked in yet you might also be able to enjoy Bongoleeros for a last track which sounds like something performed by mental patients... Nutty cluttering noise, chaotic with mostly a lot of crazed vocals and insane babbling plus some feedback and oddball sounds... Pretty special I must say. Tracks 1-20 are all about harsh non-melodic guitar noise, blasting beats, over-saturated gurgling shrieks, very short expeditive songs, just ultraviolent, ugly and mean grind/noise... Tracks 21-33 are a little bit different in that you can actually make out some riffs, but it's strictly instrumental stuff... more straightforward grind and less noisecore oriented... Yeah, this is from the guy behind ASHIAIP, you can easily notice some similar brushwork and some unmistakable primal anti-americanism! 	PURULENT SHITFACE "Absturz Beim Kletterkurs" Cdr
	(www.murdergrind.de) Review: Very straightforward F.E.T.O. type grindcore flirting with noisecore, complete with freaking raw rehearsal type sound, pretty cool typical grind riffs, pretty fast drumming, a decent enraged feel... Vocals are kind of varied, mostly hysterically shrieking, occasionally grunting, with a sort of drunken punk thing going on, often pretty silly/grotesque though, just too over the top and loose for me to truly appreciate... Still a cool effort with some sweet, grinding punch, but I'd recommend this band to psychotic noisefreaks only...
