	PARLAMENTARISK SODOMI "Demo 2007/2006 " Cd-r
	Release date: 2007 Review: I'm gonna go on the record and say this is perhaps the best grindcore ever to come from Norway! It sounds like drumming is programmed but very, very intricately done. Riffing is really inspired, blazing fast and insanely catchy. Vocals are great too, roaring and quite vicious... Sound production is pretty immaculate too... Let's say it sounds like a blend of Terrorizer and maybe something like Jigsore Terror with more of a one-man/drum machine band vibe of course (Enemy Soil, etc...)... The Parlamentarisk Sodomi myspace page cites Sore Throat as influence too, so maybe a tightened version of that too... Anyhow... It feels totally fresh, just a delectable ultraviolent blast of grindcore with some nice brutal crust/hardcore on top... I'm not familiar with norwegian politicians but it appears Sodomi is having a kick thrashing them all in their lyrics, basically insults and sarcasm; so you could say this is social or political content but with a really mean streak, this stuff is actually alot of fun to read! I think the original lyrics are in norwegian but they actually took the time to translate them into english, way to go! Overall this is the most exciting thing I've heard in a while... 	BLODSPURT KRYBBEDOD Cd-r
	Release date: 2007 Review: Another demo sent to me by the Parlamentarisk Sodomi guy along with their demo... So there might be a link between the 2, I'm guessing they're norwegian as well with a name like Krybbedöd (hope I spelled that right) I have no clue what that means but, they're almost as good as fucking Parlamentarisk Sodomi but in quite a different genre- heh - the band name appears to be Blod Sprut according to the myspace page though. Inscribed on the back is "10 Trax of sickening grincore", who can argue with that?! This stuff is rather chaotic, not to mention absolutely demented! Closer to noisecore than actual grindcore, this nice demo reminds me of the exquisite japanese called World and maybe early Anal Cunt... A whirlwind of harsh, saturating percussive noise, blasting drumming, shrieking vocals, fucked up song structures... Simply nice, relaxing apocalyptic noisecore! Recommended. 	BLOOD FREAK "Multiplex Massacre" Cd
	(Razorback Records) Release date: 2007 Review: Fuck yeah Blood Freak is back! This third B offering opens with a creepy synth theme that would fit perfectly in a 80's slasher... It goes with saying Blood Freak once again delivers the goods with its infallible blend of 80's thrash metal, death metal and grind... Huge fucking riffs, crushing, insane drumming, sickening roaring and shrieking vocals, squealing, blistering solos, imaginative song-writing and general kick-assery... Mr. Maniac Neil just keeps piling up metal masterpieces! Intricate yet blunt and catchy guitar work, supremely heavy sound production... As always thrashing speed and moshing parts abound; riffage is inhumanly solid throughout. From start to finish this album doesn't lose any momentum... This is pretty much the best fucking metal out there, the only decent metal still left today (at least to me) and one of the only truly worthy descendants of Impetigo, Autopsy, etc... I've heard rumors that this would be the last Blood Freak album, I sincerely hope this isn't true! As per usual the art is the best there is, Putrid's art totally rules, one of the best artists right now! And of course the lyrics and whole concept is outrageously cheesy and totally hilarious!!! 	MACHETAZO "Utratumba" Cd
	(Living Dead Society - LDS 004) Release date: 2006 Review: This an hour worth of Machetazo's Ep and "rare" tracks... Containing Split Ep's w/ Cianide, General Surgery, Bodies Lay Broken, Corrupted, Rise Above, Abscess, the "Horror Grind" & "Maggot Sessions" Ep's... One hundred percent quality old school grindcore/death metal. These cd collection can sometimes piss me off for after having seeked out all the vinyl releases... But in case you missed out on any of their stuff, then this cd is a must-have... Sound is pretty fucking amazing, in all its sizzling bass distortion, vicious blistering guitar riffing, grinding percussion and shrieking glory... What can I say, Machetazo are one of the best grind bands in the genre around today. Tight, fast, grinding songs with a unmistakable raw and thrashing vibe; they have a doom-like, low-tuned, decaying, dissonant quality to their sound which I love as well. The band seems to really like their cover versions, as the whole cd is peppered with reprises from Venom, Massacre, Repulsion, Carcass, Impetigo, Saint Vitus, Black Sabbath... Honestly I usually enjoy listening to Machetazo's own material a little bit more as their covers don't really improve on the originals... But I must admit the Iron Maiden "Killers" intro on the Maggot Sessions version of "Trono de Huesos" brought a smile to my face (and I loved the "Ace of Spades" cover they did on the " Trono de Huesos" album too). Something I really love about Machetazo though is their selection of horror movie samples which is always impeccable, the spanish dubbing on all of these also gives them a pretty unique vibe. The whole layout/artwork on this is totally awesome too... Horror, old school black & white artwork, raw, filthy grind, what else can you ask for? 	EMBRYONIC CRYPTOPATHIA "Uterine Excretor of Carcinovomit" Cd
	(Bestial Onslaught) Release date: 2006 Review: Last I heard Embryonic Cryptopathia was supposedly defunct, I'm not sure what their current state of is... Anyhow, this cd contains most of the band's "studio" material to date I think. Compared to the earlier demo this is perhaps slightly more powerful sounding, or maybe just kind of harsher and louder... Like the demo this is total old Regurgitate/LDoH/Exulceration worship, but the newer stuff still feels a little bit different. The sludgy ultra-downtuned riffing and some of the screamy vocals sounds like something eerily close to Hemdale! This is assuredly some of the purest, nastiest goregrind to come from the US in quite a while and definitely worth checking out. Overall I have a slight preference for the demo stuff (also included as bonus on this cd - in remastered form), which sounds rawer, and with more of a visceral punch, more in the vein of Regurgitate's "Concrete Human Torture" demo maybe... The layout is simple but quite nice too, cooler looking than your average goregrind band. Hopefully the band is not totally over, it would be shame to see such a perfect sounding goregrind band name go to waste! 	BURN THE MASSES "Blast Humanity" Cd
	(Threaten Mainstream) Release date: 2007 Review: Burn the Masses. Nortwestern Mississippi. Pissed off grind band. This cd contains some of the same material the BTM demo I previously reviewed already covered, except this time around the sound production has been a little more fleshed out, this stuff sounds all around fuller... I actually really liked the raw quality of the demo, but this retains enough of the band's intense, violent vibe and adds some welcome heaviness too. If I had to pin-point the style here, I'd say it's an all american mix of Cephalic Carnage-style brutal death metal and Dismembered Fetus -type ultraviolent grind. Quite a lot of metallic, shugging guitar riffs mingled with blasting grind outbursts, raging growls and shrieks... Some shreds of groove and (parodic?) melody peaks through it all occasionally too. Songs are all quite short though and this release running time doesn't exceed 18 minutes but overall, this is really nice, solid material and a totally tight grind/death band. Song titles and subject matter seems a little random/slack, in the mean spirited vein of Anal Cunt, etc... Anyway these guys are definitely worth checking out, nothing more to add right now...
