PUTRESCENCE "Dawn of the Necrofecalizer" Cd

(No Escape Records - NE 023)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 27:32

Review:
This is the brand new second cd of Putrescence, which is possibly my fave canadian band! Clearly, the band sounds quite different compared to their debut full length, sound production is alot cleaner and more polished... I always prefer more of a raw edge in my grind but the band manages to keep a visceral type of energy. Style is a mix of "brutal" death metal and grind, keeping a relatively technical edge but never pulling any punches; I'd situate their sound between Hideous Mangleus & Dead Infection. Gutsy roaring growls and maniacal shrieks, low-tuned and intricate riffing, cool distorted bass sound, solid pounding and blasting drumming. Superb death/grind with a great flowing sound. Lyrics are pure comedy, so absurd and random they always get hilarious, clearly poking fun at gory lyrics in a smart-ass Bodies Lay Broken /Birdflesh way though always still remaining entertaining all the way... All in all, a brillant come-back, two thumbs up, absolutely recommended, don't miss this one, steal it if you must and all that stuff... Ok, sorry I gotta keep this review short, I'm on a schedule! So that's all I've got for now...

BOWEL FETUS "Bloodsoaked Doomageddon" Cd

(Half Life Records - HL018)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 22:17

Review:
So Bowel Fetus is a one man band out of Australia... Yes, you'll find drum machine beats and gurgling vocal effects here, although make no mistake the style really isn't simple goregrind; just to give you an idea Autopsy & Disembowelment are listed as influences in the booklet... This is actually pretty awesome doom/death with some grind & gore elements. At the core of Bowel Fetus is solid guitar and bass work, songs are rife with slow burning, doomy, evil-sounding riffs... Songs can be pretty intricate, as well completely heavy and distorted with some twisted, morbid melodies that keep you hooked! Sound is pretty clean, giving off really downtuned vibes; this stuff is pumping out a sickening atmosphere straight out of "Mental Funeral" which I love! Bowel Fetus also has a more grinding side which I'd describe as somewhat close to Catasexual Urge Motivation. This is practically an instrumental band, as the vocals sound like amorphous rattling, gurgling background noise, the programmed drums although a bit unimposing have enough subtleties and diversity, it just works very nicely! Though one can't help but wonder how much better BxFx would sound with some real drumming (or a more natural sounding drum machine) as the riffage here is simply excellent... Song writing is quite inventive and things are kept pretty fresh throughout; as an example I'll say I especially like how the last song slows down, gets time-stretched agonisingly just to re-start at the last second for a final grind blast! This is simply cool and cleverly put together stuff! Imagery and song titles are wonderfully weird, the cd layout looks gorgeous... Definitely worth checking out!

Tracks: 1)Intro + Toxic Shock 2)Face-Slitting Fixation 3)Public Birthing 4)The Lipstick Eaters 5)Tunnel Cunt 6)Bloodsoaked Doomageddon 7)Untitled 8)Thanks Divine! 9)Mass Suicide At The Old Folks' Home 10)Bowel Fetus 11)Grave Licker

INTUMESCENCE/DERANGED INSANE Split Cd

(No! Fucking Labels #16)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 63:49

Review:
Here's collection of most of Intumescence's material and the whole thing amounts to almost 35 minutes. At least half of the these recordings have a similar production, so this cd basically almost works as a complete Intumescence full length release... And with the Deranged Insane side as a neat bonus, a full use of the cd format is made... In short, Intumescence is quite simply my favorite goregrind band out of Holland! They play some great, heavy goregrind! Drumming is a bit sloppy but it has a great, pounding grindy barbaric feel that I absolutely love, this stuff clearly isn't brutal death metal, it's primitive and ugly grind! Guitars are downtuned as hell, the riffing is grindcore to the bone and gives me a hard-on! Vocals are ripping, gurgling and totally pitch-shifted... Sound production on the studio songs sound perfect to my ears, it sure is heavy as hell but don't expect anything too polished, Intumescence is raw fucking goregrind! The live recordings are a little too much on the rough side to be totally enjoyable, the rest is pure gold though! Ok, so the band is clearly a "Reek of Putrefaction" worship, but "RoP" is one of my all-time favorites so I don't mind it at all... There might be some Exulceration inklings in there as well... Anyway, this stuff rules hard, don't miss this one!
The Deranged Insane is pretty interesting too, though in a different style, just raw brasilian grind sort of in Agathocles vein! Distorted low tuned grind riffs, some nice blastbeats, grotesque growls (kinda like Rot) and raspy shrieks (Pantalones Abaja Marino style), tracks come from various different recording sessions with sound quality in varying degrees of harshness... Oh, nice to hear a Fear of God cover version here! Not much more to say... Just one hell of a great split that almost feels like 2 full lengths, 2 cool bands, quality grind... Highly recommended!

42-63: Deranged Insane

URINE FESTIVAL "Of a Ermaphroditic Enema & an Urophilic Pissparty Pleasure" Cd

(Klysma Records - Klysm003)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 65:29

Review:
So this is the drum machine two-piece band of ex-Last Days of Humanity member Marc Palmen... Much like Tumour this is raw and noisy, amorphous goregrind, another clear offshot of LDoH, maybe these bands are defining a sort of dutch goregrind sound... Non-stop pounding and blasting drum programs, some of the most sickening, splattery, water-like vocal effects to ever grace this earth, an undistinguishable low distorted bass sound (no guitars used), outrageous weirdo/pathological song titles: This is the basic formula here and it's repeated throughout the 66 short tracks that constitute this cd, everything occasionally sprinkled with water sport porn samples and stuff. Ok, the vocals can get ridiculously close to simply sounding like a flushing toilet, but songs always keep a pretty tight grinding direction, just imagine what Mortician would sound like without guitars and this could be pretty close... Sound production is pretty clear and heavy, again very much in LDoH's style, but obviously this is purely sludgy and blasting obscene, non-melodic gore/noise, take it or leave it! Cd layout looks pretty slick as well as extremely sick...

TUMOUR "Too Large for Digestive Capacity" Cd

(Urethra Records - URR-007)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 76:22

Review:
Here's a full length cd of this pretty prolific dutch drum machine goregrind act. At least 2 other Tumour cd's came out pretty recently, but I understand this one is more of a compilation of material from 2001 to 2005... The cd is filled almost 80 minutes of sick goregrind noise... The line-up is mainly Rogier (also from Intumescence & LDoH) but various other members seem to participate in certain sessions. The overall feel of Tumour is simply really close to Last Days of Humanity except with a drum machine, minimalistic goregrind, with rather amorphous and sludgy dissonant grinding guitar riffing drowned in distortion, constantly blasting and grinding programmed drumming, absolutely vile, retching and spewing vocals with the some of the most stomach-turning watery effects ever... My favorite material off this whole cd are tracks 30-35 mainly because of the real drumming, which makes Tumour sound so much better (like... a real band)! Wow, these tracks even have some weird guitar solo-ing, haha! Honestly Tumour would sound so much better with real drumming all the time, I don't find the drum programming all that exciting but I guess in the end it would make it sound just like Intumescence, so there wouldn't be a point to it... Anyway 80 minutes is alot of material, not all of this stuff is great, alot of this stuff is clearly sloppy goregrind fun that itself too seriously (like for example one of the sessions that goes into a bizarre techno direction) BUT some of these tracks are in my opinion actually genuine grind gems in the rough! Sound is obviously quite raw but clear enough and really blasting most of the time except for the few live recordings that come off purely as harsh and horrible noisecore... The cd is also filled with tons of rather random intro samples from movies like "Dracula", "Cannibal Holocaust", "The Beyond" and more... Anyhow, Noisecore/Goregrind freaks should definitely get a kick out of this!

CxMxP/d.h.i.b.a.c. Split Cd

(Divine Noise Entertainment GOD005)
Release date: 2005
Running time: 17:33

CxMxP Review:
CxMxP is a really promising new german band, the style is grind mixed with gore & a dash of death metal type groove... Songs are kept at a pretty steady/fast pace and relatively short, most of the time around 1 minute and a half... Song-writing is tight, the band sounds pretty dynamic only using very simple but effective, raw and in-your-face riffs that just hook you... Everything really flows quite well thanks to some very catchy drumming. The band also has a definite chaotic and noisy side of course, jolting grinding blasts and extremely loud and repulsive vocals from raucous low pitch-shifted gory growls to ripping shrieks. Sound is rather harsh, with plenty of raw guitar distortion, still retaining heaviness perhaps from the instruments being so downtuned... All in all definitely a band with a lot of potential, just check em out!
d.h.i.b.a.c. Review: And now for something completely different... This is french grinding, energetic "fastcore" (I think it's the term?!), swift speed, tight-as fuck drumming, alternating crushing blastbeats, crusty d-beats, and a few groovy pounding midtempos too, tranchant guitar riffs, angry shouting and screaming vocals... Nice, raw but clear production, typical of the genre... Just think DropDead! This is simply really good, tight fast grindcore, kind of the polar opposite of CxMxP though so I was surprised but this is a pretty killer split!

Tracks: CxMxP: 1)Putrid Stench of Human Remains 2)Tastes like Menstrual Blood 3)Unidentifiable Carcass in A Bath Full of Excrements 4)Strangled to Death - Fucked Till Decay 5) Cum on Bleed for Me 6)Trapped Tortured Killed 7)Drugged - Kidnapped - Raped - Butchered - Buried 8)My Tongue In Your Wound
d.h.i.b.a.c.: 9)No measurable gain here 10)Misplaced 11)A Day for a Life 12)Cowa Bunga 13)Nuclear Asshole 14)Unusual Suspect 15)Fast Rewind 16)Unexpected Form

CxMxP/PLASMA Split Cd

(Divine Noise Entertainment GOD004)
Release date: 2005
Running time: 19:33

CxMxP Review:
CxMxP again plays quite basic but extremely catchy goregrinding death metal, mixing groovy midtempos and raging grinding assaults, the guitar sound has tons of distort but it's is still nice and thick, lowtuned backed up with a pretty prominent bass sound, drumming keeps the songs pumping away with a good amount of groove and speed... Vocal-wise this is all harsh screams and bestial pitch-shifted growls... The songs just work really well and I think the band has a good chemistry and a genuinely raging feel at times! I'd say this stuff sounds like Dead (for the guitar sound and riffing style) meets Bile (splattery vocal work) meets Dismembered Fetus (for the furious noisy grind side). Definitely solid stuff.
Plasma Review: Plasma plays more stuff in a style similar to CxMxP only even sludgier and more downtuned... This is midtempo sewer goregrind/death metal with disgorged pitch-shifted gurgling vocals, totally lowtuned dissonant guitars and pounding rhythms really giving this stuff more of a sickening, heavy atmosphere rather than a truly raging grind vibe. This stuff sounds a lot like the good old early Gut demo's mixed with Mortician type chugging heaviness. Execution is slightly sloppy but the band's still delivering pretty well-rounded and actually catchy songs. I you like dark, midtempo "goregrind" you very well might dig this! Cool slipcase packaging, an all around sick split cd!

Tracks: CxMxP: 1) Cannibalistic Fantasies Combined With Sadomasochistic Practices 2)Stab-Slash Wound Massacre Goulashed Corpse 3)Orgasm Through Dysmenhorrea 4)Snuff - The Only Way to Fulfill my Perverted Dreams 5)Sexual stimulating electroshocks 6)Skull splitted and brains ripped out
7)Goulashed corpse 8)Destroying her beautiful face only with my bare hands
Plasma: 9)Intense orgy of extreme pitcherdownload 10)Starving in the crypts of the spermpalace 11)Judder the cat

ANAL WHORE "Pornorama" Cd

(Divine Noise Entertainment GOD006)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 67:30

Review:
The title says it all, this is a raunchy german one-man Porngrind band, just pure unadulterated sleaze and raw noise! The first song on the album starts with a thrashing midtempo but quickly turns into a crushing blast festival, this is pretty much the basic formula Anal Whore follows throughout the whole album and its 58 tracks: basic, slow or chugging riffs followed by raw, intense grind attacks often bordering on noisecore. Guitars are extremely distorted but sufficiently heavy, some of the riffing is actually pretty decent and catchy! Some of the songs could use some tightening up, or just a more dynamic, rhythmic angle... But this still works great as completely sick, sludgy and freestyle noisy sewer grind rampage! Of course, a strict use of nauseating vocal effects is made: sick roaring gurgling and occasionally some slightly more watery sounding spewings even! I wouldn't know what to compare this stuff to... Last Days of Humanity is probably one of the main inspirations here, but the drum machine gives it a differenet feel... Germans are well-known for the sickest porn out there, and this is just another proof, sleazy as fuck samples and sickening porn song titles are the rule here! Like all these latest Divine Noise releases, the packaging is quite nice and slick with a cool slipcase and more porn imagery inside... Anyhow, I'm sure you get the picture! This one is reserved to the sickest depraved freaks out there...

Tracks: 59 Tracks (Sorry I just don't have the courage to type all that stuff)
