Well, is everything just fine with Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ? Are you very active with the band right now? Are you currently writing new songs? How often do you rehearse & play live gigs these times?

Hello. I'm Narutoshi, vocalist of Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ. We have released split EP with MASTIC SCUM, split tape with DEMISOR, split tape with FILTH, split tape with RISE ABOVE. And 3 way CD with INFECTED PUSSY and DESECRATOR. Check them out. In March, We have played show with IMPALED NAZARENE and we did small Maxico/Central America tour And we will play live with BIRDFLESH (from Sweden) in September. We are still playing band activety.

It seems you've been taking a new direction in grindcore genre with "Diversion of former customary trite compositio"... It's very different from your past works! It's probably the most original piece of genius grind of the past few years! Will you continue this way? Are you planning using female vocals again in the future? (I luv that!)

Thanks for your good comments. Our new song direction is into more progressive. Sounds like Black Sabbath meets Jimi Hendrix fuzz guitar with blast beats. I wanna try to more experimental songs with female vocals again.  I sang Female vocal on "diversion" EP  using vocal effector. He he he!!!! Not joke!! But We are still looking for real femal singer. But it's hard  to find. I don't know the girl who understand Napalm Death, Carcass, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, and girl pop music.  Alot of girls who listen to only pop music.  She can't understand Grind mind, don't you think so??

What words could define your music in your mind?

Grind Rock!! That's ll!!!!  Old Napalm Death mind meets MC 5 rock mind!!

What is the current line up? I'm a bit lost with all the nick names etc... but it seems C.S.S.O. have very different members than in the past. Is the female singer totally involved in the band now? Maybe is this quite new line up explain your "new" sound?

Well, Narutoshi(vocals), Sumito(guitars), Takashi(bass) is everlasting members from '89. 1st drummer was Junji Takemi(ex Maggoty Corpse). He  played only our 1st recording.  2nd drummer is Makoto karasawa(ex EUTHANASIA/FRIGORA). He played in our 1st CD. Next is Susumu Yoshikawa, He played "Diversion" EP/some our new stuffs and europe tour. Last is Takeshi Tohima is our brand new drummer. He played Mexico/Central america tour. He never into studio recording. Meybe he will play  drum next CD.  As I said bfore, we don't have any female singer.

What is the new CSSO stuff coming up these days & later in the future? What about a second full length CD?

Next new stuff is "Live Lp" from USA Riotous Assembley.  And split EP with MASTIC SCUM, split tape w/ DEMISOR(singapor),  FILTH(Austrlia), RISE ABOVE(Japan) out now.  3 way CD is also out now.  I think our 2nd album will be out on MORBID RECS in early  2000!!!

Do you have a contract with Relapse Records? Will you ever work with Morbid Records again?

After released "Divesion"EP, we don't have any contract with them.  Yes, Next album is MORBID. And another 3 way CD will be out on MACHISMO prod/Australia.

What is your favourite food?

Chineese food called "Ra-men".  Our all membrs are Ramen freak. After Reh or show, we always go to Ra-men shop. I  love it.

Do you like playing live gigs? How are your shows like?

Yes!!!!  Now we have played  36 gigs in 11 country with Dead infection, Haemorrhage, Agathocles, Impaled Nazarene, Mortician,  Krabathor, Inhume, Entrail massacre, Gore beyond necropsy, 324, Rise above, Anarchus,  Malignante tumour, Final exit, Ritual Carnage, Sigh, Unholy grave etc etc. Our show is about 20 minutes.  About 3-4 years ago, we played 6-8 songs in 25 minutes. Lately, we into long improvisation/experimental song, Only 1 song and time is around 20 minutes. Latly show is really experimental. We tryed to double drum. Can you imagine Double drum blast beats??? It was just noisy. Ha ha.  Anyway, We always try to original gig each time.

Is it hard to play the new stuff on live? It seems to contain many studio arrangements...

No so much.  Off course, imposible to sing female vocals on gig. But I play keybord and Theremin (sound like high frequency  signal), Sumi play gutar with alot of pedal effector. He is really effector geek.  He has over 10-15 effector.  Really freak. Sumi has 3 different Overdrive effector, 3 type of fuzz pedal, 4 type of delay and more and more. So, he is really poor, ha ha ha. On stage, he use 5-6 pedal. Bassist also use 3-5 pedal. And I use low voice effector sometimes.  Anyway, We always use alot of pedal and equipment.  Live version is more cool and alway different playing.

Do you remember how was "Grind over Europe" with Dead Infection & Haemorrhage? I'm sick I've been missing it when you came to Paris. Do you think touring again around Europe some time?

Yes, Grind ove europe tour was really cool and fumnny tour. Off ourse, We wanna go to there again. Yes, next we wanna play gigs in France!!!!!! But I don't know we are there again.  'Coz, Our members have serious job now. Impossible to get long holiday. Fuck!!!!!!!!!!

Do you write lyrics for your songs? I'd be dying to read them!!! If you write lyrics, why don't you put lyrics sheet with your releases?

Yes,  But lyrics is always change.  And my best important thing is music, not lyrics. My lyrics is no massage and not poetry. Sorry indeed. But If I can write great lyrics, I will put on next album.

I'm not very familiar with japanese comics, manga, movies... It seems you're really into it! It seems to have a huge influence on C.S.S.O.!!! And artworks of your EPs are so wonderful! Can leave some words about the most intense, extreme, insane, exciting, funny, scary shit to check out? What other kinds of flicks are you into? Do you play video games?

Yeah!!! I'm comix geek, I have over 1000 stuffs.  I love DEVIL MAN stuffs. And I recommended you Maruo Suehiro. His comix is really crazy!! Do you know 1st DERANGED Ep cover??? That's works by him. Extreeeem Cooool!!! Hey, I'm Tekken(play station) freak!!!  I love Tekken 3 and brand new Tekken Tag Tournament(only arcade yet). I use Yoshimitsu, Lei, Lin.

Oh! Many of my fave bands are from Japan... Gore Beyond Necropsy, Unholy grave, Vampiric Motives, I.R.F, Vomit Remnants, Vivisection, Carcass Grinder..... (my very fave from Japan is C.S.S.O.!).. Are you in good relationship with some of those freaks? Any other good bands you can advise to me? Do you consider japanese grind scene as a good scene? Many people come to the fests? How is the mood at the shows?

Guys of Gore Beyond necropsy is my good freind since '92.  I  like to meet Grind  guys. They are really friendly and cool people.  I met alot of Grind guys all over the world and they are really no violent pose and enjoy the music. But some Death/Black/Hard core people are really violent posing. I don't like that.  Love and peace with gory gore grind(3G), ha ha ha!!! By the way, not so much people show up local gigs but many many poeple show up overseas/famous band's show.  Sad situation.

What are the most exciting bands of actual worldwide scene in your mind?

Uuuummmm. I love extreem music bands like DEAD, SANITYS DAWN(their 2nd is fuckin' rule!!), BRUTAL TRUTH(2nd only), early NAPALM DEATH, early CARCASS, AUTORITOR, SOILENT GREEN, EYE HATE GOD, ELECTRIC WIZARD(1st), CATHEDRAL, SLEEP, BONGZILA, etc etc. Also I like old bands like BLACK SABBATH(only Ozzy), LED ZEPPELIN, MC 5, DIAMOND HEAD, METALLICA(1st), MEGADEATH(2nd), SLAYER(1st-4th), PESTILENCE(2nd!!), IRON MAIDEN, VOIVOD, AUTOPSY, etc etc.

Obliteration, the label, is related to C.S.S.O. right? Is it always in activity? Can you talk about it?

Obliteration recs is my lable.  Now I have releasd tape stuffs mainly. But few years ago, i released  DERANGED EP, REGURGITATE/GRUDGE split EP, SQUASH BOWELS EP.  My lable release is only good bands. So far, I have released 3 EP's, DEAD tape, NYCTOPHOBIC tape, DEAD INFECTION tape, WARSORE/QUILL tape, SQUASH BOWELS tape. Now  I have released CSSO/FILTH tape, CSSO/RISE ABOVE split tape, INTENCE HAMMER RAGE tape. Check it out!!

Do you remember why your called Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ?

"Clotted "  have gore/bizarre image.  "Symmetric" means world or truth. "Sexual Organ" is symbol of neo-creation.  Sumi named our band name.
