What about starting off telling me what is Aborted, and when things started? Why did you decide to form this band?
Aborted is heap of vile, stenchy & extremely sick fucks that have gathered to play some sick ass musick for demented minds. Things started to smell in the summer of 95, when I decided that, among the (at that time) very popular black metal hordes, it was time to unleash a storm of crud indicing brutal as fuck deathgrind We have always adorned the ways of the flesh & gore ridden deathmetal, so we  thought the time had come to do our own thing. We do this to rock out with our cocks out

Can you present every guy playing in the band? Are you all good buddies. What are your musical influences; and did you play in other bands before Aborted, and/or still have side-bands?
Sure, first of we have Niek on Guitaarghss, who maimly inspires the band with riffings & other sick shit such as certain lyrix. He has been in the band for 3 years now & makes most of the musick, as his mental state allows him to. Then there is Koen, who is our loyal Bassturbator, to keep feminine interest pealed. Frank is the inhuman death scourge, who beats the crap out of his drums & mostly spends his time vandalizing people & other nice things. I am the oral eructator of the bunch, write most of the sick shit & gurgle in my own feces. Latest addition to the goresome deathsquad is Thijs, who is the new second string raper, he comes from another band called DUST, which he is still active in. They play deathmetal in the vein of Death. He has taken over the duties of Herre, which had too much to do with his other band Liar We are still close friends though (as we still have our sect-like gang bang reunions). Off corpse we are all buddies, as we drink & play some gore together. I also play in a side-band called  ANAL TORTURE, in which I do the beatings, we play oldschool grindcore era old napalm death & some blood duster tunes mixed in I guess Musical influences: suffocation, old-carcass, those are thee 2 most influencive bands for us I think, though we mix in some other stuff to try to keep it interesting

Please speak about "Purity Of Perversion", your debut full length album... Are you satisified the way it's been done? The sound production is pretty good, how did all the recording happen?
We are quite pleased with the outcome of that album. Off course one can point out some things that we are not pleased with, but for a debut I think It's quite ok. The response has been excellent, so we can't complain. We recorded this slab of gore at the ccr studio's, not far from our home. It took us about 6 days to record in bad conditions: I had a fucking bad cold, Frank was just in the band for 2 months & had to learn 2 songs in studio So we are quite happy the way it finally got on tape. Our new stuff is also recorded there, as we like working with Kris, he's a cool guy & knows how aborted should sound.

What other stuffs did you release before this cd? (demos..) Is this in the same vein as the material on the album?
We had one official demo "the necrotorous chronicles" & some crappy rehtapes before the album, all songs of those tapes are on the album, so it is safe to assume that we remained the same, though we try to enhance the brutality of the tunes.

You're now planning to release more stuff soon... I heard about a split Ep & another full length album, anything else? Tell me everything about all that. How sound your new songs?
You worked with Bruno Kan(the wonderful artist who did the graphics on this webzine) for cover artworks of your next releases... Do you think working again with him in the future? Where was the "Purity Of Perversion" cover taken from?
Yep, that is correct, within the next 2 weeks our split cd with Christ Denied should be released on my label "soulreaper records".It contains 3 new aborted tunes of oral devastation. Our new tunes are way more heavy, brutal, sick than on the purity of perversion, yet still remaining catchy. The sound has improved a lot, so just check it out for yourself, we're very pleased about these new recordings. The coverart has been done by Bruno Kan, whom which we think of as being very talented & a great guy.
He will also be doing the coverart for new releases as well as designing our website. We are allready working on the next fullengtth which should be recorded some time after the summer; so far the title is: "Engineering the dead", we allready have 2 new tunes cooked up for that one & let me assure you that again it will be more extreme & sick than ever before Pure hard

We will also appear on a carcass tribute on Necropolis records with "Incarnated Solvent Abuse"
The cover from the purity of perversion was taken from the goregallery, it looked cool as a cover, though we will be  doing something more artistic in the future, without compromising the sickness involved

Judging by the introductions on the cd, you're very much into horror/gore movies... What are your favourite flicks and why? Will you keep using movie samples intros for your next releases?
Yes, I am a great gore/horror addict when it comes to flix: favorites: the romero living dead trilogy, bad taste, braindead, dellamorte dellamore, the texas chainsaw massacre, They just rock my world Naturally we will keep on using samples in our music, though not as constantly as on the purity, expect some more serialmayhem!!!!

Why have you been opting for a gore concept with the band? What inspire the writing of the lyrics?
It fits the musick perfectly, besides I & Niek are horror/gore addicts, so it is just a natural thing, aborted would be aborted without the gore & vile sickness oozing from our cranial cavities. There is no better source of inspiration than life & society itself, just look around & behold the mayhem that humanity procreates. Murder the world.

How often do you rehearse, and where do you rehearse(what kind of place)? How hard is it to compose that kind of quite complex death/grind songs you play?
We rehearse every week, sometimes twice a week, but that doesn't occur often. We rehearse in a room in a big garage depot, nicely isolated from outdoor activities. How hard it is to make tunes. I don't  know man, mostly niek comes up with some sick & twisted shit which rocks our minds, we carry on from that & mould it into the vile hymns that stand for aborted. We do take quite some time to procreate songs, we really want to work everything out before finishing a song.

Do you like playing live shows? Do you have some good live memories, best place/audience? What are your next scheluded gigs?
Playing live is the main thing, the most important thrill in our lives The best gig we probably had was in Bissegem with sublime cadaveric decomposition & more The audience was just going nuts. Also playing with dying fetus, deranged & morbid angel was a fucking thrill! Also we had a killer time in holland & spain, which are great to play. Belgium is rather boring, where the audience somehow prefers to act like cops instead of wrecking the place, but hell, we're in it for the thrill of the kill
