A few lame questions
to Ville of obnoxious finnish Grind/Death band,
Morbid Savouring. (May/June 2002)
Braindead:
First off, when did you guys form Morbid Savouring? Did
you play in other bands before it?
Ville:
Cheers,
Pierre! MS was formed roughly said during '99, not long
before that anyway. We were all playing in a band called
SEER OF CURSES that was somekind of thrash mixed with black
& death metal elements. So, we got bored of that band
and after some time passed I asked Tommi to join and we
put MS together. Now Tommi is gone and we've got a new line-up
consisting of putrid vomit moshers Malice Pooper (that's
me!!) -guitars, Kurt Cocaine -guitars, Rot Stewdart-vokills,
Britney Sperms -bass and fucking Aaron Spelling on drums.
Braindead:
How would you describe the thing you're playing? Which
bands had an influence on you?
Ville:
We play sick fucking grind noise with perverted, anti-healthy,
pro-porn attitude, filthy and deranged lyrics (ie. "sexual
harassment grindcore"). We're influenced by all the
fucking bands we enjoy listening so you could hear some
rip-off shit from various bands really. The clearest influences
we have are bands like REGURGITATE, CARCASS, IMPETIGO and
MACABRE I think. We're always getting new ideas from all
around the rotten globe.
Braindead: Besides
your demo and its re-released version, what have you put
out? Is there any release coming up next?
Ville:
Nah,
we've just been on a couple of tribute compilations, Motosierra
Records' REGURGITATE tribute and the Razorback Records'
IMPETIGO tribute and that's it really. We've recently recorded
some new shit for a compilation LP and a split 7"EP
with SCURVY but I still haven't put all the intros in. Ah,
yeah, almost forgot. The LP version of "Autopsy Lust"
has some bonus tracks we recorded in May 2001 with the new
line-up. Soon we'll record some more new stuff to annoy
all you people out there. Also an AUTOPSY tribute participation
is planned.
Braindead: Are you
trying to push boundaries with the extreme lyrics? Or are
you just very zsick? I heard Motosierra Recs (Pablo) had
trouble getting the booklet printed because of it!
Ville:
Yeah,
Pablo had to print the CD in Czech Rep. or something like
that 'coz the lyrics were too extreme for the German factory.
Fuck off to censorshit!! We sure as hell ain't going to
censor our stuff one bit!! We aren't trying to push any
boundaries, I just write what I feel like and I remind you,
all the lyrics nowadays are based on reality, not some fantasy
bullshit. If I write about pedophiles it's REAL, we all
know the fucking coward child abusers and that really makes
a good song. Perhaps I am sick when it comes to straight
and honest view on the world but I ain't going to live blindfolded
either. If it annoys you, perhaps you are closing your eyes
from the truth?
Braindead:
Do you guys often perform live shows? What were your fave
gigs? Would you be up for a Grind Over Europe tour or something
like that?
Ville:
Not
as often as we'd like. Our drummer is fucking lazy and we
need to drag him to rehearsals and all that slut so it's
pretty damn hard trying to get anything organized. We would
surely love to storm over the Europe like a diarrhoea blast.
All our gigs are cool, we're always noisy and clumsy and
drunk (or getting drunk).
Braindead:
You're also doing that Maggot Mail thing. Can you talk about
it?
Ville:
Yep.
Maggotmail is soon out with the 2°d issue and it's 100%
DIY shit with scissors?glue?photocopier style. Hundreds
of reviews and cool interviews with bands like PISSED OFF
ORGASM (RIP), GRUESOME STUFF RELISH, ENGORGED, ARSEDESTROYER,
FORNICATOR, ROTTEN SOUND etc etc... First issue is soon
sold out, I've only got 6 copies left so be fast if you
want one. Ask me about it.
Braindead:
You're using quite a lot of movie samples on "Autopsy
Lust", can you please name a few fave films and mention
why you like em...
Ville:
There's
not that many samples from movies actually, I've gathered
most of them from documents and TV series. Some of my favorite
flicks are actually SEVEN, 12 MONKEYS and shit like that.
I also dig 80's action flicks and horror of course!! Flicks
like CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE, CANNIBAL FEROX
and all the fucking cannibal and zombie flicks ever rule!!!
Besides, I like WWF shit too. Porn is cool too, specially
fistfucking and anal torture... I love anything that gives
a good feeling... Hah, watching the zombies blood splatter
makes a funny flick all the time.
