Ok
first, was there a particular reason for reforming Dead
Infection? (not that I'm complaining!) - At the start,
you got together different members but now almost all
the members are back, I think that's great... Do you have
the feeling the band as it is now could stick together
for a good while?
Cyjan:
The main reason that I brought the band back to life was
because I was sick of ordinary life /home, job/. I'm not
the kind of person like this. I needed something more.
Because the band has got quite famous name and a lot of
people asked my about reunion so I decide to do that.
And here we are... I think that all members from old line-up
will stay forever.
So,
at what stage is the preparing of the new album "Brain
Corrosion"? Are all the new songs ready? Did you
rehearse alot for it? When is the recording happening?
Cyjan:
We're still workin' on new songs. Each rehearsal we're
creating one new song at least. Session recording is planned
on spring next year.
Can
you describe how the new material sounds? Maybe define
it in a few words? Is it going to be similar to "A
Chapter of Accidents"?
Cyjan:
I'm sure that each "A chapter..." fan won't
be disappointed.

You
already played a couple of dates in Europe. What can you
say about these events? Did you play some of your new
songs? How did the audience react to it?
Cyjan:
Audience reaction was pretty cool! That's nice that people
still remember us. Of course, we're still playing new
songs on every gig.
The
album is going to be out on Obliteration. Do you have
an idea of what will be the release date? How do you feel
about this label? I think you've known Naru for many years...
Cyjan:
Yes, I know him very well. And I think he's one of the
most honest people in underground. When he sent me the
contract, I didn't hesitate to sign it at all.

In
November, you're going to tour in Japan, and play with
some of the greatest japanese Grind bands I know, how
do you feel about that?
Cyjan:
I'm very happy. I've never believed that it's possible
for us to visit country like that. We'll do our the best
not to let japanese maniacs down.
Lyrics
in Dead Infection went through an interesting evolution
from pathological/sickening gore up until "Surgical
Disembowelment" to real life horror stories in "A
Chapter of Accidents" (some of the most original
gore lyrics I've ever read). On the later Ep releases
you seemed to go in a more humorous direction, very far
from the early gore concept.
And now to the lyrics-related questions:
a) Will you write lyrics for the new album? If yes, what
the lyrics will be
about?
Cyjan:
Of course, I'll write lyrics for new album. The lyrics
will be in the vein as we did them on our EP releases.
More humorous, as you said. The reason is simply. I think
that everything was already told in pathological area.
b)
What do you think when you read the early Dead Infection
lyrics today?
Cyjan:
Nothing special... I still treat them as a part of my
work.
c)
Did Jaro follow the actual lyrics on "A Chapter of
Accidents" or did he only vocalised meaningless growls?
I can never follow the lyrics by listening his vocals!
Cyjan:
I think he's doing fifty-fifty. You know... some parts
he sings with lyrics, other ones without lyrics, There's
no any sense to remind all of old lyrics again.

Is
there a precise reason for calling the new album "Brain
Corrosion"?
Cyjan:
No reason. It just sounds good to me.
9-Can
you give away what the new album's cover sleeve is going
to represent?
Cyjan:
We're still loking for idea for new album's cover. In
the time being we didn't find yet what we want.
10-Cyjan,
your drumming on "A Chapter of Accidents" is
some of the best I've heard in a grindcore record, very
intense and also with a recognizable personal touch. When
did you start playing drums? Did it take alot of work
to get to this result?
Cyjan:
Thanx a lot for your nice word. It gives me a reasons
for being more better. I started playing drums about 15
years ago. I can't say that I kept playing drums a many
of hours each day. I played often only when it was necessary
/shows, albums recording/. But what is important is your
passion. Nothing you can do without it.

11-Do
you have a personal favorite among every Dead Infection
releases? Maybe one favorite Dead Infection song? Do you
enjoy listening to Dead Infection's records yourself or
not at all?
Cyjan:
I'm not listening DI songs a lot. Sometimes I listen to
our songs when I'm visiting my friends and then our music
is on. I have a lot of favorite songs like "Poppy-seed
cake", "Airplanes catastrophe" or "Flying
shit in the outer-space".
12-How
do you explain that some of the biggest polish grindcore
bands (Dead Infection, Squash Bowels, Neuropathia) come
from the same town, Bialystock? What are some other polish
bands that deserve more attention in your opinion?
Cyjan:
I can't explain why all those bands are from the same
city. Maybe because we started first and became influence
for others. I don't know. But it's good, because there're
no more bands in Poland that deserve my attention.
13-What
do you think of the worldwide Grind scene today? How does
it compare to when Dead Infection started years ago? Do
you have any current favorite bands? Favorite records?
Can you name some bands you'd like to maybe do a Split
Ep with in the future? Can you give me your thoughts on
the following bands: "Gruesome Stuff Relish"
& "Bodies Lay Broken"?
Cyjan:
There're some current good grindcore bands in the world
that I enjoy. Especially REGURGITATE, INHUME, GENERAL
SURGERY, HAEMORRHAGE. I could do a split EP with all of
those bands. Sorry but names you mentioned say nothing
to me.
What
other kinds of music do you listen to besides grindcore?
And movies... What are some of your all-time favorite
movies? What are your other hobbies besides playing music?
Cyjan:
I listen to a lot of kind of music. For exemple now, when
I'm answering your question, there's PET SHOP BOYS on
my cd player. Besides I like also ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA,
CHUMBAWAMBA, pop songs from 80's, as well as movies soundtracks.
About movies...the best ones of all times are "Bad
taste", "The evil dead", "Monty Python
and Holy Grail" and old polish comedies.
Ok,
that's all I've got! Any last comments?
Cyjan:
Thanx for the interview and see you on shows!
