masks? Did some of the members play in other bands before
Butcher ABC, aside from you Naru & Clotted Symmetric
Sexual Organ?

yo! about other members... I don't want to tell the truth
But I tell you and only for BRAINDEAD readers...
Drums are Takeshi and Bass is Sumi hendrix, both from
CSSO. So, BUTCHER ABC is another face of CSSO... In CSSO,
mostly song direction by Sumi. In BUTCHER ABC by me...
I
hear many influences in your music, Dead, Gut, Carcass
and more... Right? Any more influences? Sometimes there
are direct references through the lyrics, or some riffs
(That riff from the song "Morbider Engel des Todes"
is totally like a Carcass riff from "Reek of Putrefaction"!)...
Am I wrong if I say Butcher ABC is almost like a tribute
to these bands?
Yes,
we are big influenced by early Death/Grind bands. I want
to make hommage band for my respecting/influenced/inspired
bands. Also, for my song writing style, just jamming.
So, some riffs are totally similer of some bands. but
its not intentional. Really spontaneously influensed...
Why
the Cannibal Corpse reference in your mcd title "Butchered
at Birth Day"? (The intro to the mcd is also a reference
to the Meathook Sodomy intro...) Any reason to it other
than the funny play on words?
I
was looking for good and very fit title for our debut
album. Suddenly, I got this title. Yes, I liked old CANNIBAL
CORPSE. But at that time, I don't have "Butchered
at birth". So when I make covers, I went to record
shop and buying "Butchered at birth" CD...
Debut means like birthday, also we are Butchers... "Butchered
at Birth Day" is so good title for our debut and
looks so funny...
The
old/early songs from the Butcher ABC promo tape are very
basic and raw... Now your music has alot more old death
metal influences, was the band line-up very different
back then? Is this early style now totally abandonned?
Early
B ABC is just for fun bands with me and ex member of CSSO
drummer.
Then, we wanted to make Raw, DIY recording sounds like
early REGURGITATE, South American bands...
We recorded it at my room called DOGHOUSE studio. totally
D.I.Y. recording and song composition is totally improvised!!!
After re-union, I wanted to play more tight, fixed songs.
Who
writes the songs in the band? Do you create songs during
rehearsals or when you're alone?
Song
writing, most of ideas, riffs, composition by me. I jam
with drummer.
After
80% finished, Sumi gave us a advice for songs. He doesn't
practice wth us. Only few times before shows. He is too
professional musicans than us.
Next
year, you'll release a full length Butcher ABC album in
collaboration with Razorback... How do you feel about
this? What can people expect?! Did you already start to
write any new songs? Will the style be the same as on
"Butchered at Birthday"?
Yes,
I'm very exciting for 1st full album with RAZORBACK!!!!
But unfortunally I don't start to make album yet.... I
have to recording songs for split with GENERAL SURGERY,
after thats, We will write songs for split with DISGORGE
(mex). And we will start to write/make full album.
I don't want to hurry. I really want to make good one...
I think new songs more into old school Death. I'm reallly
tired to listen to similer Death metal sounds. Nowadays,
lots of bands to play so fast but I feel them just techinical
and fast, not brutal. anyway, new songs are more catchy
with heavy riffs, cool break.
Any
future releases planned besides this full length?
We got lots of release offer, tour offer... but unfrotunally,
we can't active so much... our drummer got child and Sumi
is only for helping us, not permanent member. ex CSSO
drummer helping shows sometimes, but he is also just helping.
Can't make long tour... But next year, we want to play
Europe and releasing more stuffs....
Japan
seems to have a good and pretty crowded grind/death scene
at the moment. Quite a lot of cool bands! Does that seem
that way to you? Are you also in touch with more hardcore-oriented
japanese grind bands like 324??? Can you name some lesser-known
japanese bands that deserve attention in your opinion?
Yes,
Japanse death/grind scene is growing up. Better than before...
But I think its only for Tokyo, Osaka and some big city..
Other area is still weak... no death/grind bands there...
I have played with 324 sometimes. I know members so long
time. GRUDGE is awesome grind. I have released their split
7'EP with REGURGITATE so long time ago. They still playing
but really slow activity... I think they are first slow
grind band in the world!!

know what's the current state of Clotted Symmetric Sexual
Organ? Is it still alive? Will the band come back in the
future?
Totally
split up. On DEAD Japan tour 2004, we re-union for just
one night... but in the future... maybe no coming back...
Sumi doesn't want to play with us. He now formed own band
with MORQUIDO drummer and female singer. More improvised
psychedelic rock.

Butcher
ABC played some dates in Europe recently, what can you
say about it? Was it a cool experience? Did everything
go well?
We played in Obscene fest. Our show was totally shit.
Sound production, playing, performance is so bad... but
hopefully people liked us... We have to more practice.
Near future, wre want to play again...
What
about the Dead Infection dates in Japan? How was it? The
shows all seem to have some killer line-up of bands! I
think you (Naru) also organize all these gigs in Japan!
Right? Is it a difficult thing to do?
Yes, tour was so excellent!! I totally understood what
Polish is so drunk master!!! I organized total tour...

your label Obliteration Records... Are you running it
just by yourself or are there other people involved?

is running only me right now.. I need someone to help

do you choose the bands you're releasing? Why don't you
release more japanese bands?
Just
I liked and I want!!! This is mostly reason. I want to
releasing more Japanese bands. But some bands want to
relesing from overseas labels... next year, I will release
2 Jap bands!! check it!!!

or dealing with music? Any weird hobbies/interests???
Just
drink and jerk off everday. I have lots of hobbys. I still
collect Swim girl photo book/DVD and I like reading book,
go to fishing, play football, watching movies, Net surffing
and collecting lots of jpg shit... But maybe if I lost
music, its near to die.. I will quite mankind or stoping
to breath, he he he...
