Review: So here it is... the first real full length album of south african band, Groinchurn. "Fink" is less intense than "Sixtimenine". More temperance in their grindcore side but much more powerful and catchy groove impulse, and a marvelous sound production. Yeah, it's in the vein of the last Blood Duster, Brutal Truth or Soilent Green records, but their sound and composition feeling is plain and stronger. Groinchurn new style is furious, original, skilful, intelligent and brutally powerviolent! I think the experimental introductions and interludes are not really helpful to the album thistime. They only spoil some of the intensity; contrary to the experiments on "Sixtimesnine"... Anyway, this album is original and catchy. Only destined to the most open-minded people... If you're allergic to groove, new experiments and originality in grind maybe you should avoid "Fink". But you don't know what you're missing! Personally I enjoy it very much! As well, the cover design and the huge booklet are really stunning! Worthy of the best stuff out on Relapse Records!

Review: I'm very pleased with this mini-album... At first sight, the cover art is killer and original! How does it sounds? well, the musical core is grind but there are many death/metal/hardcore/crust/noise influences included and everything is fitting very well together, the result is brutally powerful, varied, intense and grinding as fuck! vocals are hatefully extreme, guitars and drums are played with groovy feeling, drums are rolling and crushing all the ways! moreover the sound production is surprisingly good... It also includes so noise experiments and intros, and yes, sounds a bit like BRUTAL TRUTH's "Need to control"... I think that Groinchurn is at least at the same level as the american grinders! 13 tracks in 25 minutes... Intense!
