Review: Dying Fetus is definitely the best brutal death band around. I often overwrite compliments in my reviews, but this time I really mean it. I haven't heard such brutal death metal brilliance since Suffocation. All their compositions just leave me breathless. Their music is really sophisticated, clever and the quintessence of devastating brutality in the same time. They're as original as Cephalic Carnage but their songs are more structured and therefore definitely more catchy. You get everything, the blazing fast and alarmingly technical guitar riffs which come like a true blast in the face, and the suprapowerful and stylish drum armaggedon; from flashing blast beats to the clashing midtempos. The constant changing of pace, the incessant renewal of the way of splitting ears brings me unending excitement from the start to the end. The work done on modulation (I don't mean vocal effects because there are not any of that down here) and diversity of vocals is also unbelievable. "Average" raw roars to extremely deep guttural growls, it's a poignant surge of strength. They're one of the best and most clever brutal death metal ever, musically and lyrically (yeah don't expect Cannibal Corpse type lyrics just because of their name) Their texts are irony gems against religion("Praise the Lord") or politicians("Destroy the opposition"), with very acid and clear-sighted ideas. This is the kind of flawless clever brutal death metal album which will release you of your stress once for all; but also make you beg for more, unfortunately.
