DEAD INFECTION INTERVIEW

Goregrind and Grindcore interview #3 with Cyjan from Dead Infection(Poland)

Questions were asked by myself(Pierre) through mail

It makes a long time that I didn't hear about DEAD INFECTION! What happened since "A chapter of accidents"? What can you say about the latest releases and about "the greatest shits" cd?

After album "A chapter of accidents" we still worked, but only rehearsals and shows, no studio recordings. On autumn 97 Morbid records has released our demo tapes in cd format. On may yet, czech "Obscene productions" will release our new mcd "Greatest shits" with covers of cult grind bands like: NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS, AGATHOCLES, EXTREME NOISE TERROR... plus others. It's some kind of tribute. But you'll also find a couple suprises on it.

What releases are coming up soon? Do you prepare a new cd?

Besides mcd, we recorded two split eps with C.S.S.O. and MALIGNANT TUMOUR. They're out in July. Full lenght album on autumn, I hope. Still in grind vein!

Will DEAD INFECTION always play fast grindcore (like on "A chapter of accidents"cd) or come back to slower deathgrind of the early years?

New album will be very fast. Faster than whatever we did. And later? I'm not sure.

Do you think changing your gory lyrical concept to political/socially aware lyrics or anything else one day? (Like Malignant Tumour did)

Our new songs have different lyrics. Not gory I think. But also not political. It's a lot of polish jokes and black humour here you'll see songs titles.

Why there is no lyrics sheet on "Human slaughter... till remains" cd?

Lyrics were on demo edition/ Putting them on cd version was not necessary. After all, there's nothing curious on them.

What are DEAD INFECTION's members doing outside the band?

We are all working in several institutions.

Which bands were mostly influencing your compositions?

Old CARCASS, old NAPALM DEATH, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, TERRORIZER.

Are any DEAD INFECTION's member vegetarian or vegan?

No

How often do you play rehearsal?

Two times in the week (Wednesday and Saturday)

Is there any gigs or tours planned soon or later?

Yes. Soon we'll play many shows in Poland and in other countries. There's always many shows in summer time.

How was the 1996 european tour with C.S.S.O. and HAEMORRHAGE?

It was great experience! I like both bands. There's cool people and it's most important. Two weeks we spent like a family.

Do you remember that gig in Zichem(Belgium) in summer 96? Why were you only three on stage? Is DEAD INFECTION line up changed recently?

Yes, I remember very well. We played then without our guitarist Maly, 'cause he was in the army at this time. Present line-up is the same.

The line-up changed several times in the beginning of the band. Why?

It was very hard to find responsible and serious people.

What do you think of black metal?

We don't like this kind of music. Personally, the only person of 1 really black metal was BATHORY. Nothing more.
