Review: Here we sink into the depths of mental perversion and obsessive murderous violence... 5 trips to unrelenting aggressive madness! If you don't know it yet, C.U.M. plays constructed malignant grind/death with some slow parts, but above all blowing ultrafast beat blastings, orgasmic guitar riffs and absolutely sick squeaking/ejaculating or grunting/raoaring/moaning vocals... Line-up is formed by two japanese killcraze serial killers & a drum machine... with several sadistic intros in GUT way... (one of the intros is from a Texas Chainsaw Massacre trailer). A really enjoyable tape with great production...

Review: If you missed this now out of print cd when it's been put out by Deliria some years ago, then Razorback re-issued it just for you. The musical content is the same, but this new version has totally new packaging artwork, really well-made and gory. This was the debut and unique full long-length album by kill-crazed japanese band Catasexual Urge Motivation, (now performing their art as 'Vampiric Motives'). The lyrics and concept deal with serial killing and everything related to the subject... the song titles are terrifying and humoristic in the same time. It's catchy well-structured cybernetic drum-machine-ridden death/grind with a cold, scary feeling through it, and occasionally some groovy touches. The band didn't like to be categorised as mere grindcore, and they included alot of slow, doomy, nearly industrial parts. But most of the time, the drum-machine is going at schizophrenic speeds. And vocals are the sickest of the sick, raw, stomach turning, squeaking and grunting. These vocals sometimes seem to be performed with a throat full of blood. Running time is longer than average grind albums (50 minutes or so...) and it maybe gets a little challengy in the middle. But expect a milestone of gory grind-death anyway! It's energic, intense, sick and it's an absolute must-have.

Review: Catasexual Urge Motivation is definitely one of the most remarkable and unique grind band of the 90's. Their style is truly singular, with a terrifying, cold and menacing feel mixing perfectly with their fascination for serial-killing (displayed in their lyrics and imagery, a lot). There's a whole raw, dirty feel that seems inspired most importantly by Impetigo and Autopsy, often with painfully slow, doomy parts leading to ultra-violent, ultra-fast grindcore climax. Their blast-beats have an industrial, dehumanized feel and often reach unnatural speeds, as well as occasionally experimenting with near-techno beats or catchy, unconventional rythms. Another C.U.M. trade-mark is the sickening vocals, the utterly repugnant spattery gurgles intertwined with the deep, guttural grunts and moans, again delivered in a intensely repulsive, perverse and gross sexual sexual manner. C.U.M. is truly a catalyst for violent sexual and bestial murderous impulses, transcribed into grindcore terms; it's catchy and effective but there's also an ever present disturbing, oppressive ambiance, definitely something unmatched in sickness. This collection of the almost complete C.U.M. discography is a great idea, from the amazing "Rape Trauma Syndrome" demo to the Split Tape w/ Goropsy and compilation material, everything here is must-hear material. Wether you've already got some of these CUM releases or not, getting to hear them on cd is a mind-blowing experience. Plus, you've got 2 previously unreleased bonus tracks and great liner notes by the band. The giallo-inspired artwork is excellent as are the neat serial-killer-style newspaper clippings (cool idea) and small original cover-art reproductions... In short, this is a must-have. Hope Vampric Motives will rise again.
