Review:
Brutal Death Metal with a theme that's assorted medieval tales of
torture and inquisition. The music style is fairly traditional and
extremely competent brutal death with a superceding Cannibal Corpse
"Tomb of the Mutilated" influence. Most riffs sound like
something Cannibal Corpse could have written in 92, and the deep
guttural growls are very similar as is the very tight and fast,
brutal drumming. I remember being a huge fan of that album, so I
kinda like Brodequin that way too. The riffs always have something
obscure and sinister going on, the vocals are all about relentless
perseverance, and everything in this death metal style is very torturous
and kinda restrained, hence the torture theme fitting extremely
well. Hell, if you're into death metal, this is a must-have album,
the sound is very good, the songs and musicianship very tight, intense
and straightforward; you won't go wrong with that one. Extra points
for using Bruegel's "Triumph of Death", I just love those
paintings. Blah.
