Review:
Here's a band I omitted to talk about along the years... Sorry for that, but let's not miss the occasion of talking about this new release. Which, in fact, is a re-release of two of past Blockheads works. This band is one of the finest french bands. Their orientation is almost pure grindcore, though there's a little hardcore and death metal touches behind it. It's most likely grind anyway, something like Assck, Brutal Truth and the likes... with strongly socially aware messages aggressively shouted, growled and screamed, gently accompagnied by an armaggedon of fast tight drums and violently incisive grind riffs. French grindcore doesn't get any better than that. It's certainly one of our best bands. I'll be damned for not having talked about them before! This great cd has an honestly cool sound production, the long running time of one complete hour, a well-done full colour cover-design work and booklet with all the lyrics. Put out by best grind-death french production label, Bones Brigade. The only flaw is that all the song are on one unique track! I don't know if it's only on my cd or what, but it's strange, you can't access tracks separately! Anyway, listening it at one stroke is not a problem, coz this band's music is really truly fine!

Tracks: 1)Face yourself, make up your mind! 2)Sometimes 3)Reek of deceit 4)Enmeshed 5)Primate way 6)Ephemeral 7)Rupture 8)Lamenting spirit 9)Positive incetive 10)(...) 11)G.M.O. 12)It will eat you 13)Dreamland 14)A.C.T. 15)Dead Men Working 16)Shaman Pulse 17)Micropig 18)Hide your Face 19)War to War 20)Logic of Chaos

BLOCKHEADS "Human Parade" Cd

Review:
One of the best band from France, definitely! They play really cool grindcore with a bit of hardcore & crust in it. They seem to have listened alot of Napalm Death (old & new) and Extreme Noise Terror. It also sounds influenced by late Brutal Truth in terms of sound and some of the song structures; which can make even the finest of grind a bit sloppy, but still, it's very exciting grind, certainly cooler than most stuff, and it's very energic, abit like Agathocles. Very intense and tight, with a crazy speed factor all the way, grotesque vocals reminding me Lee Dorian (old N.D.) with a touch of Barney and Phil Vane (Extreme Noise Terror), there's also mucho hysterical screaming goodness of course. To me, the most effective songs are the very short and intense Lärm-like brutal hardcore onslaughts, more than the more structured songs. Overall, perhaps there could be more blunt grind brutality but it's still extremely effective, very well-produced grindcore that's definitely worth checking out! Lyrics are a little preachy, and I don't think their messages and opinions are convincingly translated into lyrics, but really, social lyrics are a little harder excercices than brainless gore/splatter/rape fantasy stories, so I give them that. Anyway, also great looking packaging art and everything by Bones Brigade; extremely well done cd, must-have, like everything on Bones Brigade!

Tracks: 1)First genocide 2)Generally accepted ideas 3)Polymorphic perdition 4)Horned totem 5)Articial day 6)Mc Dollars 7)Avagdu 8)G.O.D.S 9)Oppoturnist 10)Circle of consumption 11)Dog bomb 12)Between human and animal 13)Crom cruach 14)Ekum 15)Will nature soon forget 16)Seismosore 17)Moloch 18)Masked masses 19)Unwillingly and slow 20)D.Y.B.M 21)Womb 22)Flies reward 23)Paroxysm of speeches 24)Butterfly 25)Millenium utopia 26)Regression 27)Haashaastaak
