BITCH INFECTION"The Gory Side of Life" Cd

(Necroharmonic)
Release date:
2003
Runng time: 50:40

Review:
Here's a truly sordid and repugnant album by this obscure german band called Bitch Infection; brought to the world by Necroharmonic Productions... Their whole sleazy porn imagery is very close to Gut, as is the music style, although it is perhaps slightly more straightforward, tighter/faster than Gut, and more like gore/grind in the vein of Utopie and Dead Infection. The sound production is alot rawer and crude than these 2 bands, but still sufficiently clear; drums are programmed and happen to sound quite natural, vocals are sickeningly pitch-shifted and sound all very icky, gurgling and splattery; the riffs are basic, grinding, crushing and heavy, the drumming varries from very fast blasts to catchy Gut-type midtempos. You've also got quite a few porn intros, or porn samples worked inside the songs, but they use significantly less intros than Gut for example, it's just an intro every now and then, I seriously doubt you'll have even the time the jerk off during them. Anyway, the layout is also filled with really sick porn pictures and stuff... so well, just expect something tasteless beyond belief, and pretty damn good gore/grind as well.

Tracks: 1)Swallow cum 2)Porn delusion 3)Bitch killer syndrome 4)Oral request V 5)Toilet tart nurse 6)The gory side of life 7)Hot, hard & fast 8)Oral request VI 9)First steps to ecstasy 10)Cocksucking hardcore nymphs 11)Pussy mailorder 12)Oral request VII 13)School of torture 14)Freaky virgin 15)You want more 16)Oral request VIII 17)Pussy showdown 18)Cook massage 19)Anal gangbang 20)Oral request IX 21)Medicinal sex 22)X Tra cunt 23)Inconceivable fantasies 24)Oral request X 25)Sperm speech 26)Deep insight 27)The darker image 28)Oral request XI 29)Service girls 30)Hot load 31)May way with Utopie

BODIES IN THE GEAR OF THE APPARATUS "Simian Hybrid Prototype" Mcd

(The Spew Records - TS06)
Release date:
2004
Running time: 19:12

Review: Here's a band that mixes metal(core) and grindcore influences pretty much equally, it's all very fast and aggressive but also quite technical with twisted song structures, constant tempo changes (Blasting grindy parts, alot of breakdowns, followed by thrashing riffs or some sludgier parts...) Vocals are some sort of high pitched shrieking with a little back-up from lower roaring voices at times. So, musicianship is solid, execution is precise... Sound quality is nice and diverse in a way (some songs seem to sound rawer than others which I think keeps things interesting)... it's all quite limpid and heavy sounding of course, but there's a chunky raw vibe I like. Songs are mixed in with movie samples injecting a good deal of dark atmosphere. I guess this is pretty close to stuff like Dillinger Escape Plan, Soylent Green, etc... Not my personal favorite genre, but this band is good at what they do. Also, cool cd layout, and the band's weird lyrics are printed too...

Tracks: 1) A lubricated rubber glove and pornographic photos of a decapitated chinese hooker 2) Of things to come 3) Love affair with a mannequin 4) Big bad mean and nasty 5) Hoist the black flag (and begin slitting throats) 6) Seventeen reasons to die wearing black 7) Fuck her like you paid for it 8) The ugliest smile in rock and roll 9) White trash whore 10) Fuck the Middle East (SOD cover) 11) Last words can be so clich?

BOLESNO GRINJE "Pobjeda je Nasa" Cd

(Endless Brutality of Men Records)
Release date: 2005
Running time: 34:43

Review:
It took me a while to find where this band was from... So anyway, I'm pretty sure they're croatian and they play some pretty nasty, raw-as-fuck, straightforward grind. Their sound is completely dirty, abrasive, distorted and with a definite live feel... Musically they're extremely energetic, totally focused on speed and intensity... Tons of crusty d-beat drumming but a healthy share of grindy blastbeat outbursts from time to time as well... Vocals are mostly roaring, angry growls with sometimes slightly more shrieking backing vox. Guitar riffing is pretty aggressive, sometimes with too much of a melodic line for my taste but this stuff has an excellent violent crust-grindcore vibe going for it, the band went insane with the distortion effects here too, this stuff sounds pretty fucking noisy, personally I like it but this might not be for everyone! You can still hear the bass pretty well in the mix too, and yeah, it's distorted as fuck too! If you love old school raw grind/crust like Extreme Noise Terror, Cripple Bastards, this is the band for you!

Tracks: 1)Introdukcija 2)Ne 3)Bolesno grinje 4)Nema powalka 5)Depresi}a 8)Osuoen na tapilju 7)Alarm 8)Noz u leba 9Jebem 11 posao 1O)#13 11Generacija zajeb 12 P. SA M.B.K.ZS. 13)Vjesanje br.176 14)Mrt av/pljan 15)Gledam u prazno 18 Trovanje 17-Bec teksta 18)...Je kraj

BOWEL FETUS "Bloodsoaked Doomageddon" Cd

(Half Life Records - HL018)
Release date: 2006
Running time: 22:17

Review:
So Bowel Fetus is a one man band out of Australia... Yes, you'll find drum machine beats and gurgling vocal effects here, although make no mistake the style really isn't simple goregrind; just to give you an idea Autopsy & Disembowelment are listed as influences in the booklet... This is actually pretty awesome doom/death with some grind & gore elements. At the core of Bowel Fetus is solid guitar and bass work, songs are rife with slow burning, doomy, evil-sounding riffs... Songs can be pretty intricate, as well completely heavy and distorted with some twisted, morbid melodies that keep you hooked! Sound is pretty clean, giving off really downtuned vibes; this stuff is pumping out a sickening atmosphere straight out of "Mental Funeral" which I love! Bowel Fetus also has a more grinding side which I'd describe as somewhat close to Catasexual Urge Motivation. This is practically an instrumental band, as the vocals sound like amorphous rattling, gurgling background noise, the programmed drums although a bit unimposing have enough subtleties and diversity, it just works very nicely! Though one can't help but wonder how much better BxFx would sound with some real drumming (or a more natural sounding drum machine) as the riffage here is simply excellent... Song writing is quite inventive and things are kept pretty fresh throughout; as an example I'll say I especially like how the last song slows down, gets time-stretched agonisingly just to re-start at the last second for a final grind blast! This is simply cool and cleverly put together stuff! Imagery and song titles are wonderfully weird, the cd layout looks gorgeous... Definitely worth checking out!

Tracks: 1)Intro + Toxic Shock 2)Face-Slitting Fixation 3)Public Birthing 4)The Lipstick Eaters 5)Tunnel Cunt 6)Bloodsoaked Doomageddon 7)Untitled 8)Thanks Divine! 9)Mass Suicide At The Old Folks' Home 10)Bowel Fetus 11)Grave Licker

BRAZILIAN ASSAULT

ABHORRENCE, OPHIOLATRY, NEPHAST, MENTAL HORROR 4 Way Split Cd
(Relapse Records)
Release date: 2001

Review:
Well I sure prefer brazilian goregrind or hardcore/grind bands, but those 4 wicked groups are quite good. All are variations on old style death metal, more or less brutal, with uninspired song titles like "Triumph in blasphemy" or "Chaos domination". But it's good fun anyway. First 3 tracks are by Abhorrence, they play really good brutal death metal, in Deicide and early Morbid Angel vein... quite heavy and brutal with usual death metal style growls. I thought the second track was a Sinister "Diabolical summoning" cover version one moment, but huh... it wasn't, I checked the song title... The next band is Ophiolatry (which means "serpent's cult"). They play thrashing brutal death metal, in Deicide's vein again, and also early Hypocrisy, because of the raging growls. It's very good for death metal stuff, quite consistent, but I'm not in a death metal mood these days, so I thought it was also a little boring. Then comes Nephast, the most melodic of the 4 bands we have here, but still brutal. I'd compare this one to Massacre or maybe Disincarnate. Once again it's a little too convential for my taste. The last band, Mental Horror, is my favourite. Their recording sound quality is a little weaker than the 3 others'. They also play some kind of death metal, but it sounds more obscure, and closer to grindcore spirit than other's, a little close to late 80's/early 90's Napalm Death. Their songs can be little confused, but it's always brutal and wicked heavy. Vocals are a mix of nice guttural deep growls and some kind of mid-high scream (a little black-metal-ish). They also do a bass interlude and an acoustic outro that are fun. That's about it. Most of the songs are taken from bands' various demos released in 1998/1999/2000. It's odd that Relapse released this cd, it's not the usual kind of bands they cover. That's probably also why it's an "Underground Series" type of Relapse release. I liked it all the way. Recommended to underground brutal death metal buffs or brazilian scene freaks only though.

Tracks: ABHORRENCE: 1)Triumph in blasphemy 2)Hellish annihilation 3)Abhorer existence
OPHIOLATRY: 4)Opposite monarchy 5)Chaos domination 6)Breaking the bones of Jesus
NEPHAST: 7)Gloomy words 8)Flames triumph 9)Merciless controller 10)Inquiring fear
MENTAL HORROR: 11)Tortured 12)Profane mind 13)Flight on the storms (bass intro) 14)Ghost (under thearapy in a crypt) 15)The psychosis from the picture 16)Enigmatical human hatred 17)A change of serial precognitions/evolutive trauma (acoustic outro)

BUTCHER ABC "Butchered at Birth Day" Cd

(Obliteration Records)
Release date:
2003
Running time: 13:15 (26:25 with bonus live tracks)

Review:
Here's the re-issue or "expanded version" if you will of Butcher ABC's 2003 Ep, "Butchered at Birth Day"... The cd is completed with 5 extra live tracks with slightly muddy but still listenable recording quality as well as a live movie (the complete 30 minute set from Obscene Fest 2004! Line up is strictly guitar/drums/vocals on these tracks but the band still delivers!). Regarding the original Ep itself, I'm still unclear wether this title is a tribute or a jab at Cannibal Corpse, either way I think it's all pretty funny and weird, the opening intro is clearly also a nod to "Meathook Sodomy", but the Cannibal Corpse really references stop there as Butcher ABC is a different thing altogether musically... This is heavy and energetic blood spattered death metal with bits of goregrind here and there, Dead, Necrony, General Surgery, Gruesome Stuff Relish and of course early Carcass (one of the riffs from the third track, "Morbider engel des todes" is straight from "Reek of Putrefaction") all spring to mind at one point or another... Cool memorable riffs, superb groove, perfectly balanced and composed songs, catchy midtempos, a mix of Carcass-type shrieking and growling... Butcher ABC is as removed as can be from Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ (guitaritist/vocalist Naru's orginal band) musically, but this stuff is still delivered with the same kind of wild energy and insanity! Their debut full length cd is said not to be ready to be released before a long while but I for one am eagerly awaiting for it!

Tracks: 1)Hell awake 2)Dozen of dismembered torsos 3)Morbider engel des todes 4)Maximum rotting corpse 5)Butchered at birth day
