(Blood Harvest / Sounds of Betrayal - Ninth)
Release
date: 2001

Review: Well, I knew this material already. It's a vinyl
re-edition of the Retaliation 1994 Demo "Devastating Doctrine
Dismemberment". The band was pretty much sounding the same back
then. Fucked up, intense, short songs, total grindcore... Except for
the vocals, which except the saturated sickening skirl they still
have nowadays, were mostly thick, infamous growls and occasionally
low pitch-shifted gory splatter grunts... It's alot like Dead Infection
era "A Chapter of Accidents"/Split Ep w/ Blood, only it
predates it. Near Gore/Grind with sickening gore song titles and all!
The stuff comes with quite a great sound and serial killer intros.
Re-editing this stuff was such a brilliant idea! Try and get it if
you can.
Tracks: 1)Septic vaginal discharge 2)Morgue
intruder 3)Severe proctological disembowelment 4)Corpse disorder 5)Doctrine
dismemberment 6)Child abuse 7)Semi-digested tumor 8)Deviant 9)Necrotic
gizzard engulfer 10)Hunting humans 11)Ghoulish morgue staff 12)Severed

Rot Review: Recent live recording for the Rot
side. They play some of their new songs, which are pretty
more powerful and catchy than in the past. A basic
punishing mix of crustcore & grindcore. Simplicity,
rawness and visceral violence, that's always good and
exciting to hear for me! Social lyrics to shock the anti-PC
so called rebels. I especially like the misanthropic
texts, that perfectly reflects what I think & am!
Long live Rot! They perpetuate the great tradition of
grind/hardcore like Siege/old Napalm Death/old Agathocles.
Without compromise!
Tracks: 1)Strong asociality 2)No
longer a threat 3)Technological error 4)Russian roulette
5)Seeding the absurd
No
Prejudice Review: Mince/grind from Brazil too. In
the exact same vein as early Rot. I love all this energy!
A violent feeling coming from the guts, expressed with
intensity. A mix of grind & brutal crust. A good
sound quality, but no studio recording of course!
probably a rehearsal or something. Just raw & dirty
the way I like it! Some more social lyrics written in
portugese & also translated in english. The picture
of the screaming girl on the disc should be taken from
Lucio Fulci's The Beyond. A good split for grind-crusties,
with a great layout and a lyrics sheet.
Tracks: 1)Pare com o machismo e
sexismo 2)Disinformados 3)Foda-se 4)Festa da exploraçao
5)Açao directa 6Unidos vamos vencer

     Rot "Walls around us"
Review:
Rot in the
straight grindcore vein of "Cruel face of life".
As well, most of the songs of this ep can be found on the
cd... but these are different versions. Grotesque,
brutish growls and fucked up screams, loud, basic guitar
riffs and blasting drums... a great quotient of pure and
basic grindcore, vocals are always a little odd, sort of
funny, but that's ok. Social lyrics for those interested,
cover art in Napalm Death "Scum"/"F.e.t.o."
way and alot of anger! Pretty good.
Tracks: 1)Anger against
conformity 2)Hidden from yourself 3)Very imortant people
4)the pest (11/90) 5)The extreme vanity 6)Removing the
mask
 Mindfart "Fairytale"
Review:
...Mindfart
is another band playing grindcore in a Agathocles vein...
I maybe heard this kind of grind thousand times, but I
can't get enough of it! Some fast parts, some more slow
parts, grind, grind, grind, some short tracks, some
longer... Lyrics against vivisection, religion,
multinationals.... crusty cover... all the habitual shit...
well this is grindcore!
Tracks: 1)Fairytale 2)The
terrible truth 3)The lie 4)Pain 5)Sadistic torture 6)Multinationals

     Rot "Our freedom-A lie"
Review:
Four thick
and brutal grind tracks from Brazil... Mincing, heavy and
fast basic grind à la Napalm Death "Scum"/early
Agathocles vein with grotesque growls, hysterical screams
and the simplest, totally heavy guitar riffs... Lyrics
that "all relate the freedom in a very sceptical and
disapointed point of view" as the band puts it. A
real nice rampant delivery as usual and a nice suicidal
cover as well...
Tracks: 1)Face the facts 2)Education
3)Our freedom-A lie 4)Drowned in restrictions
Agathocles
"Wiped
from the surface"
Review: Here is another one of the
numbrous Agathocles split 7"eps... this time they
play with the brazilian grindcore gods Rot... It can only
be a great ep!!!... Agathocles delivers 2 mincing studio
fast grindcore tracks of the highest quality and one
crusty hardcore live song... Always with clever lyrics...
and clear sound...
Tracks: 1)Intro/Wiped from the
surface 2)Debalance their policy 3)Go fucking nihilist(live)
