| AGATHOCLES "Distrust and abuse" (Boundless Records) Release date: 1993 ![]() |
|
Review: Here is a killer 6 track ep...
only pure grindcore songs with heavy sound except "Get
off your ass" (which a killer crusty hardcore song).
Grind tracks sound like early Napalm Death: low roaring
vocals with some backing crazy screams... thrashing
guitars and -hyperfast- grinding drums... The sound isn't
really perfect, but loud enough to enjoy the songs in a
great climax of ultra-brutality! Lyrics are against
nazism, rockstar attitude etc... Note: You can find these
tracks as bonus on "Razor sharp daggers"cd... Tracks: 1)Sieg shit 2)Hatronomous 3)Hideous headchopping 4)Bigheaded bastards 5)Get off your ass 6)Distrust and abuse |

| AGATHOCLES "Back to 1987" (Boundless Records) Release date: 1996 ![]() |
|
Review: 11 Agathocles classic grindcore
tracks from 1987 re-recorded in 1994 for a deranged
result: 11loud grindcore noisy songs with ultra extreme
vocals and total musical destruction! Impressive little 7"ep!!!Tracks: 1)Big one 2)The fog 3)Teachers 4)The accident 5)Mutilated regurgitator 6)Consumming endoderme pus 7)Splattered brains 8)Christianity means tyranny 9)Squeeze Anton 10)Introyyl 11)Threshold to senility |

| AGATHOCLES "No use... (hatred)" (Boundless Records) Release date: 1995 ![]() |
|
Review: 4 crusty hardcore songs recorded
in rehearsal... very listenable, but quite lacking of
goodie grind punch! You can find all of these tracks on
"Thanks for your hostility" album, but here are
better, rawer, noisy versions of them... I'd say this is
for hardcore AxGx freaks who collect all the EPs... Tracks: 1)Go fucking nihilist 2)Hatred is the cure 3)No use ... (hatred) 4)An abstract |

| ASSEL (Busted Heads Records/Putrid Filth Conspiracy/Sounds of betrayal) ![]() |
|
Review: Very fast and powerful grindcore
with a crust touch. All good and speedy. Lots of blasts,
fast goodness and plain rage. Heard that kind of energic
grind so many times before, and I still crave for it. And
this band's especially tight I think. Vocals are the kind
of violent screams and everything sounds totally dynamic
and raw. Man, you gotta love it. Lyrics are in swedish
with a couple of notes in english. Definitely recommended.Tracks: SIDE A: 1)Stat frtryck 2)Till fr oss 3) Lurad 4)Trangsynt SIDE B: 5)Perfekt 6)Ensam 7)Vnder kappan efter vindem 8) Frebild 9)Total kontroll |

| ASSCK "State to state" (SOA) Release date: 1993 ![]() |
|
Review: Assck is a band from US, they
play... grindcore, old fashion grindcore... with an
incredible fastness and velocity in drums reminding, for
example Napalm Death's "From enslavement to
obliteration" album or Terrorizer "World
downfall"... some short, and more death-metal-like
parts give a little contrast with the "speed"
parts, in the vein of Napalm Death "Utopia banished"...
But the songs are always fast, and very short... Vocals
are in the vein of Terrorizer too... raw and low. I
really appreciated Assck's direct grindcore style! Look
for them!Tracks: 1)State to state 2)The thousand mile stare 3)Procession 4)Epilogue 5)A nation's tear... |

| ASSCK "State to state" (Open) Release date: 1992 |
|
Review: Another 7"ep from the great
american grindcore band; ASSCK. This is still in old
Napalm Death/Terrorizer vein... with 6 "right-in-the-face"
tracks, technically perfectly handled, catchy with
moderately short running time: Devoid of any boring parts!
Blasting velocity of drums, rythmic power of guitars,
low, roaring vocals: highest quality grindcore! Produced
at Morrisound! |

| AUTOPSY "Tortured moans of agony"
(Necroharmonic Productions) ![]() |
|
Review: "Tortured moans of agony"
is a quite recent Autopsy live bootleg... Recorded in
1993, with a good sound quality. Most of the tracks come
from "Mental Funeral" album. So, well,
listening to this EP, will remind you Autopsy was a total
classic band! This record only features cult songs like
"Slaughterday", "Charred remains" or
"Twisted mass of burnt decay"... as usually you
feel this macabre dark mood defining Autopsy music style.
A doomy, scary death metal, sometimes slow, sometimes
real fast, always with a dirty and raw sound... and
exceptional, extremely nasty and twisted vocals by Chris
Reiffert... Of course, this is a must-have for Autopsy
maniacs! Death-grind amateurs in general should take a
listen to it anyway! Available as a double 7"ep,
with beautiful red and purple discs! ($8 US, $10 world
from Necroharmonic)Tracks: SIDE A: 1)Slaughterday 2)Fiend for blood SIDE B: 3)Fleshcrawl 4)Torn from the womb 5)Shit eater SIDE C: 6)Charred remains 7)Death twitch SIDE D: 8)Dead 9)Twisted mass of burnt decay |

| AUTORITAR/AGATHOCLES (Split) (Yellow Dog Records) Release date: 1996 |
|
Autoritr Review: Autoritr is into good crust/grind;
vocals are not very extreme but still full of violent,
raging anger, most of the songs have crusty hardcore
tempos, but several fast grind parts energize the whole
thing... the result is very explosive... crusty -powerviolence-
grindcore freaks should appreciate! beware the shocking
cover! Tracks: 1)I don't... 2)Looser 3)The answer is unknown 4)Enslaved 5)Never asking what its for 6)Inside 7)Disbeat |
|
Agathocles Review: 4 AxGx tracks; the first one is
original(but quite slow), second one is great crushing
mince/grind, both first songs are studio material... the
two last ones are noisy live recordings... Inequal
release, but very interesting though! Destined to AxG
freaks...Tracks: 1)Libidinous urges 2)Hate-My mate 3)A for arrogance 4)Thy kingdom won't come |
